| Children can feel fearful in any unfamiliar place,especially when visiting a hospital.But for children who are hospitalized for long periods of time,medical fears can have a different impact on their healing process and recovery.That’s why it’s so important to ease children’s medical fears.It is in the nature of children to enjoy games and brightly colored picture books,so this study combined play therapy with picture book therapy and used group work to intervene with children.The study used questionnaires to measure and analyze the medical fears of hospitalized children in four dimensions: fear of medical environment,fear of medical operations,fear of interpersonal relationships,and fear of self before the intervention.Six group activities were designed and conducted.Ten children who participated in the group activities were measured on the scale and interviewed before and after the group activities,and through the evaluation,the following conclusions were made:first,play therapy combined with reading therapy for medical fear intervention in hospitalized children with leukemia is more effective and this approach is operable;second,intervention of medical fear in hospitalized children by group work intervention is affected by Second,the intervention of medical fears in hospitalized children by group work is affected by the age of the children,the cooperation between the medical staff and parents,and the professional level of the social workers.To effectively use play therapy and reading therapy to reduce medical fears and other negative emotions in children with leukemia,children’s play and reading rooms should be established in hospital wards and equipped with game props and books so that hospitalized children can have a place to relax and have fun in the hospital.Specialized staff with medical knowledge should also be arranged to provide non-medical support for children,and the role of doctors and parents in the hospitalization of children should be emphasized to strengthen the support system for children.Hospitals should take the initiative to introduce social work programs to achieve sustainability of the group.The aim of this study is to alleviate the medical fear of hospitalized children and improve their treatment compliance through group work. |
