In the context of the era of national fitness,the scale of the sports population continues to expand,and people gradually realize the importance of physical exercise.Physical exercise can bring many positive effects to people,but when excessive exercise or the loss of scientific protection,it may cause negative effects.University,as the final stage for most people to receive systematic physical education,is a crucial period for developing good lifelong sports habits.Diagnosing and distinguishing the symptoms of exercise addiction among college students and strengthening the scientific nature of college students’ exercise behavior can help promote the development of the public fitness industry.Based on Griffiths’ behavioral addiction theory,the basic dimensions of the scale were summarized through literature review and open-ended questionnaires,to grasp the exercise behavior rules of college students participating in individual exercise programs,and to construct a theoretical model of college students’ individual project exercise addiction.After consulting with experts,an initial scale for college students’ exercise addiction was developed,and items that did not meet the standard in the initial scale were deleted through item analysis and exploratory factor analysis.Finally,a formal scale for college students’ exercise addiction was formed.Reliability analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted on the formal scale to test the reliability and validity of the scale,and the optimal scoring value was determined using ROC curve analysis.This article analyzes the current situation and differences of exercise addiction among college students participating in personal exercise programs,and puts forward corresponding suggestions for improvement.The final conclusions are as follows:(1)After two rounds of testing,using mathematical statistical methods such as item analysis,exploratory factor analysis,reliability analysis,confirmatory factor analysis,and validity analysis,the exercise addiction scale for college students has been proved to have good reliability and validity,and can be used in practical applications.The exercise addiction scale for college students includes 5 dimensions and 22 items.(2)Using the exercise dependence scale compiled by Li Menglong as the criterion,it is proved that the exercise addiction scale for college students has a good criterion related validity,and a threshold value of ≥ 73 points is determined as exercise addiction.(3)The survey found that the current prevalence of addiction among college students participating in personal exercise programs is 13.1%,which is similar to the mainstream view that the prevalence of exercise addiction is between 10% and 15%.The performance of college students participating in personal exercise programs on the five dimensions of the scale is uneven,with significant differences in gender,grade,major,exercise program,and participation form.Based on the current situation and difference analysis results of college students’ individual project exercise addiction,combined with the characteristics of college students’ learning life and exercise programs,this paper proposes relevant suggestions for improving college students’ exercise addiction for individuals,psychotherapists,physical education teachers,and universities.
