| Composition is an important way to cultivate students’ Chinese literacy in an all-round way.It is also a need for students to realize their own development.But it is a pity that some problems are in students’ compositions in Nan Qiao Primary School where the researcher works.These problems include students’ improper attitude to their composition,the insufficient knowledge on composition and poor habits in writing their compositions.The solutions to these problems should become an important topic for the researchers who study Chinese teaching and the teaching of composition in primary schools.Literature research method,questionnaire survey method,observation method and other research methods are used to study the current situation of the students’ compositions in Grade Six.Through the observation of the composition class,the researcher can know more about the current situation of the students’ attitude and behaviour to composition.The questionnaire survey is divided into the students’ composition questionnaire and the teachers’ teaching questionnaire.Students’ questionnaire are designed from three dimensions: the students’ habits when they are writing,the habits of keeping their compositions neat and tidy,and their reading habits.The teachers’ questionnaire includes five dimensions: the teachers’ understanding of teaching,the orientation of writing objectives,the selection and treatment of teaching content,the teaching implementation and the evaluation of students’ compositions.The teachers should try their best to improve their teaching abilities and establish the concept of lifelong learning.They must learn the knowledge and skills related to composition actively.The teachers should study the Chinese Curriculum Standard and textbooks deep and know more about the students.They can learn to change the roles and become the senior collaborator of students’ knowledge construction.The teachers should make the teaching content diversified and make the teaching means flexible.The teachers can establish a mutual helping group for students to study together.Both emotional cultivation and skills training should be emphasized in their class.The teachers can develop the appreciation education which can create a good learning environment for the students.The school should pay more attention to the students’ compositions,and sets up a leading group to study Grade six students’ compositions.At the same time,the school should take measures to train the teachers’ how to teach composition,they can offer courses about compositions and divide reading time for students to read by themselves.In order to enrich students’ emotional experience,the teachers can organize colorful campus activities and create multiple cultures.Through these measures the school can gradually create a good composition environment. |
