As an educational means,educational discipline is an indispensable part of school education,and plays an important role in maintaining discipline and achieving educational goals.The formal implementation of the "Rules for Punishments in Primary and Secondary School Education(Trial Implementation)" marks the legal protection of the educational disciplinary rights of primary and secondary school teachers in China.However,there are still many problems in the implementation stage,leading to the unsatisfactory effect of disciplinary implementation.Many studies have shown that it is necessary to regulate and protect teachers’ disciplinary rights from a legislative perspective,but most of them focus on the issue of instrumentalization of punishment,while lacking attention to the caring value inherent in punishment itself.Therefore,this study selects the perspective of Noddings’ care theory and believes that educational discipline is an educational concern for the growth and development of students.Therefore,on the basis of reviewing the research on educational discipline and Noddings’ care theory both domestically and internationally,this article defines the relevant concepts of educational discipline.Starting from the perspective of combining care and punishment,it investigates and analyzes the problems and underlying reasons in the current educational discipline of primary and secondary school teachers,explores the caregiver positioning of educational discipline for primary and secondary school teachers,and provides new ideas for implementing caring educational discipline for primary and secondary school teachers.The investigation found that current primary school teachers have insufficient understanding of the meaning of care in educational punishment;The lack of diversity in caring methods in the process of educational punishment;Practical issues such as poor care effectiveness after educational punishment.And analyze the reasons for the above problems from four aspects: teachers,students,parents,and schools.The main reasons are: some teachers lack care literacy in educational punishment;Inadequate care and participation of students in educational punishment;The school’s disciplinary system is incomplete and the caring atmosphere is insufficient;Parents lack the correct sense of punishment.Therefore,this article combines the relevant content of Noddings’ care theory to propose suggestions from five aspects: improving teachers’ caring education disciplinary literacy,enhancing students’ caring quality,creating a caring campus cultural atmosphere,establishing a home school communication mechanism,and integrating diversified care into educational discipline.
