Social and emotional competence is of great value to the growth of adolescents,especially affecting their mental health.Having good social and emotional competence helps adolescents to have a healthy mental state.In recent years,the detection rate of psychological diseases such as depression and anxiety is increasing in the youth group,and more and more adolescents are suffering from depression and anxiety.Previous studies have shown that social and emotional competence can effectively reduce the level of individual depression.However,few studies have explored the social and emotional competence among clinically depressed adolescents.Therefore,in order to fill this research gap,this study is based on the ABC theory of emotion and the theoretical model of social affective competence,and adopts the intervention method of group work.From the professional perspective of social work to intervene the social emotional ability of adolescents with clinical depression.To explore the relationship between social affective ability and depression and anxiety.At the same time,to explore effective methods to improve social emotional ability and reduce depressive symptoms in adolescents with clinical depression.In this study,47 adolescents with clinical depression were investigated with the Delaware Social Affective Capacity Scale.The results showed that:(1)The social affective capacity of adolescents with clinical depression was significantly lower than that of normal adolescents.(2)There was a significant correlation between social and emotional competence and depression.Social and emotional competence could negatively predict the level of depression in adolescents with clinical depression.Accordingly,the intervention needs of social and emotional competence of adolescents with clinical depression were explored.In this study,7 adolescents with clinical depression were recruited to carry out a six-time group activity on social and emotional competence growth around four themes of self-management,interpersonal relationship,social awareness and responsible decision.Based on the data analysis of group intervention group,it was found that:(1)Group intervention of social and emotional competence could effectively improve the total score of social and emotional competence and self-management factor score of adolescents with clinical depression.(2)The group intervention of social and emotional competence could effectively reduce the level of depression and anxiety of adolescents with clinical depression.Therefore,based on the current situation of this study and the effectiveness of group intervention,the author drew the following three conclusions:(1)The level of social and emotional competence of adolescents with clinical depression was low.(2)The level of social and emotional competence could predict the level of depression.(3)Group work could improve the social-emotional ability of adolescents with clinical depression.Based on the practical results of this study,the following suggestions were made for the intervention of social emotional ability of adolescents with clinical depression:(1)Integrating multiple ways to carry out long-term intervention.(2)To combine professional strength to cultivate social emotional ability.(3)To strengthen social and emotional ability by exerting the strength of family and school community. |
