Social anxiety is relatively common among adolescents with interpersonal problems and is manifested as a complex and persistent emotional state of worry, nervousness and apprehension when adolescents are anticipating or interacting with others and receiving attention from others.Socialization is not only a necessary activity for adolescents.Due to the presence of worry and fear about socializing, some adolescents choose to avoid it or even refuse to interact with others. In the long run, this will definitely have a defeatist effect in future. In view of this, this paper takes students with social anxiety in secondary school C as the research object, and uses scale measurements and interviews to understand the extent of their social anxiety and to explore the causes of social anxiety from three aspects: personal, family and social. The program uses cognitive-behavioral theory and systematic desensitization to address social anxiety in adolescents, helping them to change their irrational cognition, improve their self-identity and self-confidence,learn communication skills and social skills, and enhance their ability to regulate their emotions, with the aim of alleviating social anxiety. In the evaluation phase, the effectiveness of the service was examined by analyzing the data from the pre-and post-measures of the scale. The results showed that the social anxiety of the young people improved to a certain extent after the group work intervention.Through this study,it is concluded that group work interventions for adolescents’ social anxiety are effective to a certain extent.Firstly, the improvement of the clients themselves, including the change of irrational cognition, the acquisition of social skills and the improvement of their ability to self-regulate their emotions,is important for their personal development and social life.Secondly, the group format provides a platform and opportunity for group members to change themselves.Through interaction and communication among group members, they learn more social skills and gain opportunities for mutual growth and support.Thirdly, the cognitive-behavioral theory can be used by social workers to improve the effectiveness of the service.Under the guidance of the cognitive-behavioral theory, clients can change their irrational perceptions, which in turn can lead to changes in their behavior and the establishment of great interindividual connections. Finally, proposes suggestions to solve the social anxiety problem of adolescents.
