| On the evening of February 4,2022,the opening ceremony of the 24 th Winter Olympic Games was held in Beijing, attracting the attention of the world. As a sports media event that has attracted much attention around the world, the Beijing Winter Olympics has quickly become a hot topic in the world media. In this context, the German media covered the Winter Olympics as early as July 2021 and have since begun to report more. The German public broadcasting union ARD represents the Federal Republic of Germany internationally, its online platform focuses on current politics and sports, and the coverage of sports events has a strong communication and influence in Germany and neighboring countries. Therefore, focusing on the official website of the German media ARD’s coverage of the sports events of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, exploring how its reporting is structured through online media, what kind of framework model is presented, and the reasons behind it are the issues concerned in this study. This study was carried out from four aspects. The introductory part puts forward research questions on the basis of combing the current situation of research and framework research literature on Olympic Games reporting at home and abroad, and clarifies the theoretical value and practical significance of the selected topic. The second chapter takes the framework and three hierarchies proposed by Zang Guoren and Zhong Weiwen as the theoretical basis, quantitatively analyzes the sample of news reports about the Beijing Winter Olympics on the official ARD network platform, presents its structural basic elements, and analyzes the characteristics of the elements of ARD coverage of the Winter Olympics from July 21 to March 22.Chapter 3 summarizes the types of sports media event reporting frameworks for the Winter Olympics: the factual framework of the project competition, the ceremonial framework for the coronation of champions, the framework of responsibility for epidemic prevention, and the conflict framework of human rights politics, and explores the salience and temporal distribution of these four frameworks. Finally, the strategies and reasons for the formation of the above reporting framework are analyzed: the choice of topics reflects the double choice and political bias of the presentation of facts, the narrative is mainly based on the interactive narrative of graphics and text and audio-visual interactive narrative and hyperlinked text narrative, and the orientation of text discourse changes from negative to positive. The formation of the framework is mainly affected by factors such as media subjectivity awareness, temporal and spatial turn, and sports media event rituals. It is found that in the reports of the German official media on the Beijing Winter Olympics, the content of the reports is diverse, the reporting framework is diverse, and there are dynamic changes in time when the deviation between the real and the actual media is presented.Different sources lead to different reporting tendencies, and the hyperlinkability of online platforms also increases the autonomy of audience awareness. The textual narrative is inseparable from the influence of Western ideology, but its political bias is somewhat weakened in the framework of reporting from the perspective of sports media events. |
