As one of the core issues of anthropological research,rituals are used to integrate society and reinforce ideas by expressing social concepts and ideological systems in the form of symbols and making people worship religion or totems.The idea that "rituals sustain society" attracted James Carey’s attention,and on this basis he proposed a view of communication rituals,pointing out that the main function of communication is to construct a unified ideology and achieve the summoning and aggregation of society.Other scholars later reorganized ritualized communication from the perspectives of media and events,media and rituals,and television and religion.The Beijing Winter Olympics is the world’s largest winter sporting event held in China,and studies on it have focused more on the athletic attributes displayed during the games.From the perspective of "communication",by giving different symbols to each part of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games,and systematically displaying these "symbols",the audience can receive the symbolic meaning conveyed by the Winter Olympic Games,and thus achieve the integration of the ceremony to the audience and society.In order to obtain a comprehensive summary of the ritualized communication behavior of the Beijing Winter Olympics,this paper takes the Beijing Winter Olympics as the research object,uses the communication ritual view,semiotics,media events and other related theories to carry out research,uses questionnaire survey method,interview method and comparative analysis method and other research methods to analyze and summarize the ritualized elements present in the Beijing Winter Olympics,after which the presentation of ritualized communication in the whole process of the Beijing Winter Olympics After that,we interpreted the presentation of ritualized communication in the whole process of Beijing Winter Olympics,and explored the impact of ritualized communication in space and time by conducting a study on the audience of Beijing Winter Olympics.Based on the above analysis,the ritualized symbols and scenes of the Beijing Winter Olympics are summarized,and on this basis,the ritualized presentation and effects of the whole process of the Beijing Winter Olympics from the preparation stage to the end of the event are considered and studied,and how to build a ritual space in the communication process of the Beijing Winter Olympics to guide the audience to participate in it and how to realize the expansion of the spatio-temporal environment.Then,we explore the significance of the ritualized communication of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games,and conduct research at three levels: national,social and individual,in order to achieve depth and breadth of research.This paper examines the whole process of the Beijing Winter Olympics from the perspective of ritualized communication,and tries to reveal the meaning of the communication of the Beijing Winter Olympics from the perspective of cultural studies.It expands the boundaries of the research on the Beijing Winter Olympics and sports events in the direction of communication studies,in order to make a useful addition to related studies. |
