| With the development of China’s economy and urbanization,the trend of the "family-oriented" and "immobile" migrant population increased,and so had the number of migrant children.After entering the city,migrant children faced difficulties in adapting and integrating into urban life due to changes in their living environment,restrictions on urban identity,and insufficient social interaction.Community,as the main living place of migrant children in the city,community integration was regarded as an important path for them to complete their social integration and urban socialization.Therefore,started from the community participation level,this study took the S community in G city as an example and explored the substantial impact of social work intervention on the community integration of migrant children by conducting group work and community work with migrant children.In this study,mobile children living in Community S of City G were used as the research subjects,and data were collected through questionnaires,unstructured interviews,and observation methods to analyze the current situations,problems,and needs of community participation of mobile children in this community.The results showed that migrant children in the community S had problems like weak awareness of community subjects,insufficient ability to participate,lack of social support,and absence of participation platform.Therefore,this study adopted the EPS(Empowerment,Participation,Strengthens Perspective)social work model to intervene in the community participation situation of migrant children,to adopt an advantaged perspective on migrant children and empower them to participate in the community through a participatory approach.Coinciding with the community transformation of S community,the researcher used this opportunity to conduct group work and community thematic activities for migrant children to participate in community affairs by narrowing the governance unit,refining the governance content,and broadening the governance participation channels.The evaluation found that mobile children’s sense of community subjectivity had increased significantly,their participation capacity had been enhanced,social support had been supplemented,participation channels were established,and social work intervention had been effective.Finally,through the review and reflection of the practice process,the researcher summarized and analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of the EPS intervention model in promoting community participation of migrant children,hoping that this study can provide a new theoretical perspective for social work intervention in community participation of migrant children and further enrich the practice area of social work in promoting community integration of migrant children. |
