Geography teaching aids are the general name of models,specimens and wall charts used to explain certain geographical things and phenomena in geography teaching.The production of geography teaching aids is a necessary link and content in high school geography teaching.It is an effective way to cultivate students’ geographical practical ability and comprehensive thinking ability.It is also an important means to improve and optimize the effect of geography classroom teaching.At the same time,geography teaching aids are also an important geography curriculum resources.But for a long time,the design and production of geography teaching aids lack scientific methodological support.It is difficult for teachers and students to independently generate innovative inspiration and design and produce practical and innovative geography teaching aids in the practice of teaching and learning.On the basis of explaining the connotation of design thinking and sorting out the existing classical design thinking models,this study focuses on the analysis of EDIPT design thinking model developed by Stanford University School of Design.Through the analysis of the concrete implementation process of the model,the author proposes to introduce the design thinking model EDIPT into the design and production of geography teaching aids as a methodology.This paper provides effective theoretical support for the design and production of geography teaching aids,so as to optimize the production process of geography teaching aids,carry forward the advantages of geography teaching aids,and innovate ways to cultivate students’ core accomplishment and innovation ability.This study takes geography teaching aids as the main research object,design thinking as the guiding ideology,and EDIPT design thinking model as the concrete method support.Firstly,the literature method is used to conduct a systematic and comprehensive analysis of the literature related to design thinking and geography teaching aids collected,sort out the research status,define related concepts,and find the theoretical basis,so as to explore the feasibility and significance of this study.Secondly,through the content analysis method,taking the course standard,teaching material and students as the analysis basis,and taking Hunan Edition Geography 1 and Optional Required Course 1 as the specific points,the relevant contents suitable for making teaching aids in high school geography teaching are sorted out,and the classification of teaching aids and their teaching value are expounded.Then,by analyzing the appropriateness of applying the EDIPT design thinking model to the production of high school geography teaching aids,the principles and process elements of the production of high school geography teaching aids based on the EDIPT design thinking model are condensed and the main stages are extracted,and the production process of high school geography teaching aids based on the EDIPT design thinking model is constructed.Comprehensive exploration,understanding the principle;Brainstorm,design schemes;Prototype visual,teaching aids testing.Thirdly,using case study method,frontal system model,barometric and wind zone model,lunar phase demonstration teaching aids,solar and sidereal day demonstration teaching aids,solar altitude and azimuth measurement instrument,equatorial sundial as examples to carry out practical research.This paper evaluated and analyzed the production results of high school geography teaching aids based on the EDIPT design thinking model through the evaluation scale of teaching aids constructed.At the same time,combined with the interview outline,the opinions and opinions of teachers and students about the production process of teaching aids constructed in this study were interviewed,and the production process of teaching aids constructed was modified based on the interview results.The enlightenment of making high school geography teaching aids based on EDIPT design thinking model is obtained from theory and practice.Finally,the conclusion is drawn that the analysis is insufficient and the prospect is put forward.It can be seen from this study that there is an intrinsic consistency between the concept of design thinking and the educational value advocated by the core literacy of geography discipline,which has certain guiding significance for the design and production of geography teaching aids.EDIPT design thinking model is one of the effective guidance methods for the design and production of geography teaching aids.At the same time,the production process of geography teaching aids based on EDIPT design thinking model constructed in this study is conducive to the cultivation of innovation ability of teaching aids makers,and has certain feasibility and operability.
