With the development of the economy and the acceleration of urbanization,a large number of rural labor forces have flocked to the cities,leaving the elderly living alone in the countryside.Compared to the empty nest elderly,the rural solitary elderly are more vulnerable due to the death of their spouses or long-term separation.As a socially vulnerable group,the rural solitary elderly have attracted widespread attention from the entire society.The elderly living alone in rural areas not only have to accept the fact that their physical functions are declining,but also lack the companionship of their spouses and children.They have closed themselves up for a long time,with little social interaction.Over time,they are prone to negative emotions such as loneliness,loneliness,anxiety,irritability,inferiority complex,depression,and even suicidal thoughts.Their spiritual comfort needs to be improved urgently.This study takes Z Village,Xigu District,Lanzhou City as the research site.With the help of the village committee of Z Village,interviews,questionnaires,and observation methods are used for field research.The analysis found that the elderly living alone in Z Village generally lack family support,communicate less with others,lack cultural and recreational activities,and have a strong sense of powerlessness in the family and society.Their spiritual needs are prominent,and spiritual comfort services are seriously insufficient.Social work has the need to intervene.The author selects a professional approach to group work,using activity theory and social support theory as the theoretical basis,and selects eight elderly people living alone to establish a "warm sunset" spiritual comfort group for elderly people living alone.It aims to lead solitary elderly people to participate in group cultural and entertainment activities,help solitary elderly people build a mutual assistance and support network among peer groups,create a beautiful and happy group atmosphere for solitary elderly people,alleviate the sense of emptiness and anxiety caused by long-term solitary living,improve the spiritual comfort ability of solitary elderly people,enrich their spiritual world,and improve the quality of life of the elderly in their later years.This study uses two evaluation methods,process evaluation and outcome evaluation,to explore the effectiveness of group work in improving the spiritual comfort ability of solitary elderly people.The results of the study found that group work has certain effects in meeting the spiritual comfort needs of solitary elderly people and improving their spiritual comfort abilities,specifically manifested in the fact that solitary elderly people no longer close themselves,actively engage in social interaction with peer groups,neighbors,relatives,and friends,actively participate in cultural and entertainment activities,transform incorrect self perception,recognize their unique values,and have full confidence in themselves.In addition,the form and content of group activities have received unanimous praise from the team members,and the team goals have been basically achieved.The team work has achieved good results. |
