With the continuous development of information technology and artificial intelligence technology, robot teaching is receiving more and more attention. Many primary and secondary schools offer robot based courses to cultivate students’ comprehensive abilities such as innovation and hands-on ability. However, there are still many problems that need to be solved in the current robot teaching, such as unclear teaching objectives, teaching modes that are not suitable for the characteristics of robot courses, inability to leverage the engineering advantages of the courses themselves, and neglecting the cultivation of students’ comprehensive abilities through the learning process, resulting in poor teaching effectiveness. Therefore, this study combines the existing problems in current robot teaching activities and explores how to construct a junior high school robot teaching activity process under the CDIO concept based on the CDIO concept in engineering education to improve the teaching effectiveness of robot classrooms.Firstly, the study used literature research to define the concept of CDIO and robot teaching, and reviewed the current research status at home and abroad.Secondly, the current problems and causes of robot teaching in internship schools were analyzed through a survey of the current situation, and the feasibility of this study was pointed out based on the characteristics of robot courses.Once again, using the CDIO teaching syllabus, the robot teaching objectives in junior high school information technology textbooks were analyzed and classified, and the three-level goals of junior high school robot teaching activities under the CDIO concept were sorted out.Based on the "dual main" principle, situational experience principle, and multiple evaluation principle, the characteristics of learners, teaching methods, learning environment, and teaching evaluation were analyzed,We have constructed a preliminary framework for the design process of junior high school robot teaching activities under the CDIO concept, which revolves around the three-level goals of junior high school robot teaching activities. Finally, relevant teaching activities were designed based on the framework and three rounds of practice were conducted. After each round of practice, the effectiveness of the teaching activities was analyzed through teacher classroom observation, student interviews, and work scores. The shortcomings in the teaching activities were summarized, and as the next round of problems to be solved, the effectiveness of the model was improved and verified through three rounds of iteration.Through teacher classroom evaluation, student interviews, work evaluation, and questionnaire analysis, the overall teaching effectiveness is analyzed from the perspectives of students’ learning immersion, learning attitude, and work quality. The final conclusion is that the design process of junior high school robot teaching activities under the CDIO concept has a very significant effect on improving students’ learning immersion, and has a significant effect on improving their learning attitude; From the perspective of work scores, students’ scores in interdisciplinary integration,hands-on practice, and collaborative expression of their works have all improved, which verifies the effectiveness of designing junior high school robot teaching activities under the CDIO concept.
