The advancement of Internet technology and the popularity of online media are constantly influencing and changing the way of life and interaction in human society, with digitalisation and intelligence becoming new trends in social development and human interaction. While this trend facilitates young people,it also poses new demands and challenges for older people.Focusing on the family sphere, the older generation lags behind the younger generation in terms of the use of Internet technology and the acquisition and understanding of Internet knowledge due to differences and limitations in their cultural background and physical functions, and the digital divide between generations tends to widen as society progresses. The digital gap between family generations and the need for older generations to integrate into the digital society have led to the gradual re-socialisation of the parental generation in the digital age, while the digital feedback from the offspring to the parental generation has also become an important way for the parental generation to achieve re-socialisation.This study takes a microscopic perspective and uses judgmental sampling to select12 groups of post-90 s offspring and their parents as the subjects of the study, and conducts in-depth interviews on the intergenerational interactions between the two generations in the Internet era.The aim is to show the digital gap and the phenomenon of digital feedback between the generations of families in the Internet era, which is characterised by rapid social changes and technological innovations, and on this basis,to further explore the impact of digital feedback on parent-child relationships. It also explores the impact of digital feedback on parent-child relationships, revealing the collision and interplay between traditional concepts represented by the parent and the modern spirit represented by the child, and seeks to find the best balance between traditional and modern thinking,to maintain good parent-child relationships, and to achieve tolerance and understanding between generations.Based on Mead’s Three Metaphors of Culture theory and interviews with 12 groups of families, this study concludes that the trend towards digitalisation in the Internet era has led to intergenerational differences in the access to and use of online media by parents and children, and that these intergenerational differences have led to a digital gap and digital feedback. The digital feedback from children to their parents are mainly on three levels: skills, knowledge and culture, and the action strategies used in these feedback are rich and varied, and the digital feedback between parents and children have their own unique characteristics. In addition, the digital gap and the phenomenon of feedback also imply a re-creation of parent-child ethical relationships.Specifically, digital feedback have a positive social value in bridging the digital gap between parents and children, promoting parent-child interaction, enhancing the closeness of parent-child relationships and increasing the equality of parent-child communication, but digital feedback cannot completely eliminate the existence of the digital gap.At the same time, digital feedback can also bring about new problems, leading to new inter-generational conflicts and tensions, and reducing inter-generational family bonding. In this regard,it is necessary for both parents and children to overcome the intergenerational differences arising from the development and progress of the times,to understand and tolerate each other, and to provide social support for the integration of parents and children in the digital society.
