Prosocial behavior refers to all behaviors that contribute to social harmony and tendency, and is an important part of individual socialization.A good level of prosocial behavior can help enhance the social adjustment of junior high school students and promote psychological health development.Junior high school students in adolescence are facing pressures and challenges from different aspects and are susceptible to negative life events.Too many stressful events may weaken the production of prosocial behavior and other virtuous behaviors in individuals,so it is of great practical significance to investigate the effects of negative life events on prosocial behavior and the mechanisms of their effects, and to propose suggestions and countermeasures to promote prosocial behavior in junior high school students.previous studies have found that perceiving social support can enhance individuals’ prosocial behavior, and empathy can also increase individuals’ emotional feelings towards negative events and thus influence prosocial behavior.Based on the above factors, the psychological structure of prosocial behavior in junior high school students is not yet clear and needs to be studied in depth. As a multi-ethnic region living across the border,Yunnan is the province with the largest number of concentrated ethnic minorities, and the characteristics of "large mixed living, small clusters" are especially obvious, needless to say the interactions and exchanges among ethnic groups are becoming increasingly frequent. So,Focusing on the prosocial behavior of youth in Yunnan’s ethnic minority areas is conducive to promoting education on ethnic unity and progress and building a sense of Chinese ethnic community.Based on previous research, this study used the Adolescent Prosocial Behavior Scale, the Perceived Social Support Scale, the Interpersonal Reactivity Index, and the Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Checklist as research materials to investigate and study. The first study is an investigation.By stratified cluster sampling method,892 junior high school students from 4 middle schools in ethnic minority areas of Yunnan Province and 332 junior high school students from 2 middle schools in Han areas were selected as the research objects. The study investigated the current situation of negative life events, perceived social support, empathy and prosocial behavior of junior high school students in ethnic minority areas, and compared the differences between junior high school students in ethnic minority areas and Han areas in various variables. The second is the relationship study, which explores the relationship between negative life events, perceived social support, empathy and prosocial behavior of junior high school students in ethnic minority areas, establishes a model, and discusses the possible intermediary role of perceived social support and empathy. The results are as follows:(1)Negative life events of junior high school students in ethnic minority areas are at a low level, with academic and interpersonal stress being the main stressors;perceived social support is at a medium level, with friend support being higher than family support and other support;empathy is at a medium level, with emotional empathy being higher than cognitive empathy;prosocial behavior is at a high level, with each dimension scoring from highest to lowest as trait,altruism,compliance-public welfare, and relationality.(2)Junior high school students from ethnic minority areas had significantly higher scores on the total score of negative life events and the three dimensions of punishment, loss, and adaptation, significantly higher scores on the total score of empathy and the dimension of emotional empathy, slightly lower levels of prosocial behavior, and no significant differences in comprehending social support than junior high school students from Han areas, and there were no significant differences in the perception of social support.(3)Significant correlations were found among four variables: negative life events, perceived social support, empathy and prosocial behavior among junior high school students from ethnic minority areas.Negative life events gives a reverse prediction on prosocial behavior.(4)Comprehending that social support and empathy play a chain mediating role in the influence of negative life events and prosocial behavior.
