The college stage is an important period of life development and maturity, and a series of major life issues such as personality optimization, ability improvement, and employment choices are highlighted. How college students view these life events and establish a positive coping style is very important.Perceived social support,as an important coping resource, plays an important role in the choice of coping methods. Therefore, this study provides theoretical support for guiding college students to establish positive coping styles through the analysis of the status quo and discussion of the relationship between negative life events, perceived social support and coping styles of college students.Study 1 used the Adolescent Life Event Scale, the Perceived Social Support Scale and the Simple Coping Style Scale to conduct a cross-sectional study on 591 college students as the research participants, and used SPSS 22.0 for data analysis.Study 2adopted a longitudinal study, using the same scales in Study 1 to explore the relationship between different types of perceived social support(families' support/friends' support/ others' support),negative life events, and coping styles at T1(the period of the outbreak of the COVID-19 in March 2020),T2(the autumn recruitment period for college students in June 2020),and T3(the examination month for college students in December 2020)on 104 college students.AMOS 23.0 was mainly used for building a Cross-Lag Panel model. The main results are as follows:(1)There were significant differences in the family atmosphere and academic performance in perceived social support and coping styles.(2)Negative life events positively predicted negative coping.(3)There was an interaction between negative life events, perceived social support and coping styles.(4)Negative life events and coping styles had a linkage effect with perceived families' support and perceived friends' support, and there was no obvious path relationship with others' support. From the above results,we conclude that college students are more likely to encounter negative life events in interpersonal and learning, and the two have a greater impact on them. They often adopt positive coping styles when facing negative life events, and their social support system is good.In addition, the research shows that stress is not just a process from life events to stress response. There is an interaction between negative life events, perceived social support and coping styles, which are the three stress factors.Changes in one of the negative life events, coping styles, and families' support(friends' support)may cause changes in the other two aspects.
