In 2020,there was a large-scale outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia(COVID-19).Because of this,some people have lost their lives and health,some have lost their relatives and friends,and some people have suffered psychological stress.The topic of life is becoming increasingly hot.Studies have shown that the meaning in life,as a positive mental resource related to health,can effectively buffer the pressure brought by negative life events and maintain mental health.Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign scholars’ relevant research literature on the meaning in life,this article uses questionnaire surveys and interviews to study adolescents’ sense of life under the COVID-19,using students from a high school in Wuhan as the research object,to explore the role of adversity beliefs and social support on negative life events and the meaning in life,and to develop curriculum design research.Research 1 uses the " Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Checklist","Chinese Adversity Belief Scale"," Perceived social support scale",and"the Meaning in Life questionnaire" to explore the negative life events,adversity beliefs,social support,and meaning in life in the COVID-19.The relationship of the four variables finally led to the following four conclusions:(1)Under the general background of the new crown epidemic,the sense of meaning of life among young people in Wuhan is still at an upper-middle level;(2)The scores of negative life events of teenagers who are infected with the new crown pneumonia virus are higher than those of teenagers who are not infected with the virus,which means that the higher the teenagers’ perception of the new crown pneumonia,the greater the impact on them;(3)The greater the impact of the negative life events of the new crown epidemic,the lower the youth’s sense of meaning in life;(4)Adversity beliefs and social support are between the negative life events in the COVID-19 and the meaning in life play the role of chain intermediary.Research 2 is based on the conclusions of research 1,as well as the social situation and the actual situation of students,analyzes the basic concepts of the meaning in life curriculum design,and clarifies the goals and content of the mental health curriculum of the meaning in life.Closely follow the COVID-19,adversity belief,social support three aspects to carry out curriculum design research,and write a detailed lesson plan.In this way,I hope to help young people develop the meaning in life and maintain mental health.
