For junior high school students who have just entered adolescence, the change of learning and living environment has an important impact on their physical and mental development.Whether they can adapt to the new environment is the first important test in the process of individual socialization. As an important indicator of individual socialization, the development level of prosocial behavior will not only affect the formation of individual’s personality, but also have a serious impact on individual’s interpersonal communication and socialization.Previous studies have shown that both perceived social support and empathy affect individuals’ prosocial behavior, but the specific mechanism is not clear, and some scholars have raised objection to the correlation, and relevant intervention studies have not received widespread attention. Therefore,it is of great significance to explore and understand the relationship and mechanism among social support, empathy and prosocial behavior, and to help junior middle school students improve their level of self-prosocial behavior. In order to explore the relationship between junior high school students’ perceived social support, empathy and prosocial behavior, and whether the empathy group counseling course has an impact on the level of prosocial behavior of junior high school students and its effect,In this study,818 students from two middle schools in a city of Anhui province were surveyed by means of adolescent Prosocial Behavior Tendency Scale(PTM),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)and Basic Empathy Scale(BES),and the data were processed and analyzed by SPSS21.0.On the basis of clarifying the status quo and relationship of junior high school students’ perceived social support, empathy and prosocial behavior,52 subjects were screened from the questionnaire in study 1 and randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 26 subjects in each group. The experimental group received empathic group counseling for eight weeks, while the control group received non-empathic group counseling during the same period. The results are as follows:(1)The perceived social support score of junior middle school students is slightly higher than the theoretical median, which is above the average level. The comprehending social support level of junior middle school students is significantly higher than that of junior middle school students. The comprehending social support level of urban students is significantly higher than that of rural students.Class cadres’ comprehension social support level is significantly higher than non-class cadres. However, there was no significant difference in perceived social support for gender and only child status.(2)The empathy score of junior middle school students is slightly higher than the theoretical median, which is above the average level. The empathy ability of girls is significantly higher than that of boys. The empathy ability of urban students was significantly higher than that of rural students. The empathy ability of class cadres is significantly higher than that of non-class cadres. But there was no significant difference in the level of empathy in grade and only child status.(3)The prosocial behavior score of junior middle school students is slightly higher than the theoretical median, which is above the average level. The prosocial behavior level of junior middle school students is significantly lower than that of junior middle school students. The level of prosocial behavior of urban students is significantly higher than that of rural students. The level of prosocial behavior of class cadres is significantly higher than that of non-class cadres. But there was no significant difference in prosocial behavior in terms of gender and only child status status.(4)There is a significant positive correlation between perceived social support, empathy and prosocial behavior of junior high school students, and perceived social support and empathy can positively predict prosocial behavior, and empathy plays a partial intermediary role between perceived social support and prosocial behavior.(5)Empathy group counseling course can effectively improve the level of prosocial behavior by improving the empathy ability of junior high school students. The course scheme is feasible and effective. |
