This thesis aims to analyze the revenue recognition and measurement of WM Games under the new revenue standard and propose corresponding solutions.The implementation of the new revenue standard has had a significant impact on the financial statements and financial management of companies,especially for specific industries such as gaming companies.Therefore,this thesis selects WM Games as the research object to explore its revenue recognition and measurement under the new revenue standard.Firstly,this thesis elaborates on the research background of the new revenue standard and revenue recognition and measurement in the online game industry,and mainly discusses the relevant changes before and after the introduction of the new revenue standard at home and abroad.Among them,the new foreign accounting standard is IFRS15 "IFRS 15-Customer Contract Revenue" issued by the US Accounting Standards Board in 2014.Subsequently,China also issued the "Accounting Standard for Business Enterprises No.14-Revenue" in 2017.Then,through the development of the online game industry in recent years,the research background of the selected industry is expounded,and the relevant research at home and abroad and the relevant concepts and theoretical foundations involved in this thesis are introduced.Secondly,this thesis elaborates on the scale and current situation of China’s online game industry,including its revenue sources,operation methods,revenue recognition and measurement methods,and the differences between the old and new standards,and summarizes some problems in the current revenue recognition and measurement of the industry.Then,based on the practical cases of WM game companies,this thesis analyzes the problems and challenges faced by WM game companies under the new revenue standard.In it,the basic situation of the company and the implementation status of the new revenue standard are introduced,and analyzed.The impact of the new revenue standard on the company’s different business revenues,financial statements and certain financial indicators.Based on the implementation status and impact,the company is currently facing problems such as incomplete business disclosure,ambiguous identity of the main responsible person and agent,and unclear handling of deferred revenue.Finally,this thesis presents some coping strategies and recommendations to help WM Games solve the problems and challenges faced under the new revenue standard.First of all,strengthen the ability of enterprises to disclose information and increase the content of external disclosure.Second,strengthen the identification of enterprises to clarify whether the total or net method is used when measuring income.In addition,WM Games can also strengthen the judgment of deferred revenue timing and precipitated revenue,so as to reasonably recognize the revenue of related businesses.In conclusion,this thesis proposes a corresponding solution by conducting an indepth analysis of the revenue recognition and measurement of WM game companies under the new revenue standard.This provides reference for other enterprises when coping with the new revenue standard,which helps to improve the accuracy of financial statements.
