General Secretary Xi Jinping first put forward the great founding spirit of the Party(the spirit)at the 100thAnniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China(CPC)and pointed out in the Report to the 20thNational Congress of the CPC that“...we will carry forward the long line of inspiring principles for the Chinese Communists that originated with the great founding spirit of the Party,put revolutionary resources related to the Party’s heritage to great use,and conduct extensive public awareness activities to promote the core values of Chinese Socialism.”.The spirit has profound meanings and implications,serving as the source of all the CPC spirits and a treasure house of the course for ideological and political education(the course)in senior high school.It is a requisite for the teachers to develop students’core awareness of politics by integrating the basic content of the core values into the course,helping students inherit and promote the fine traditional Chinese culture.Therefore,through the development of the advanced culture of Chinese Socialism,the core quality of ideological and political education for students can be cultivated.Integrating the great founding spirit of the Party into the course for ideological and political education in senior high school would be instrumental in enriching the curriculum system,making the course more appealing,practicing the fundamental task of establishing moral integrity in cultivation and pursuing education for all-round development,promoting political identity,and improving students’ability to participate in public affairs.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the integration of the spirit into teaching the course in senior high school.Based on empirical research,it has been found that the integration of the great founding spirit of the party into high school ideological and political education has achieved preliminary results:students has had a basic understanding of the spirit and teachers has been consciously carrying out the integration plan.However,the integration process needs further investigation owing to the shortage of teaching system,outdated teaching methods and philosophies,and rigid teaching contents and other factors.Based on these,by analyzing the underlying reasons with an object-oriented approach,the dissertation aims to propose feasible strategies from the perspectives of the teaching system,teaching methods,teaching staff,and teaching contents.To be specific:in terms of the teaching system,the integration system should be completed;in terms of the teaching methods,the teaching approaches should be expanded and the teaching methods should be innovated;in terms of the teaching staff,teachers should be better qualified to take the leading position in teaching;in terms of the teaching contents,the teaching materials should be carefully selected for integration:they should be relevant to the spirit combined with specific case designs which can be adapted into the textbooks of the course in senior high school.This dissertation will provide a useful reference for the integration of the great founding spirit of the Party into the teaching practice of the course for ideological and political education in senior high school.
