Risk perception refers to the dynamic and complex relationship between subjective feelings, attitudes and judgments of objective or potential risks in the "risk society" and risky behaviors. In order to further understand the issues related to risk perception of hiking and cross-country enthusiasts, this study mainly adopts the exploratory timing design of mixed research methods, and conducts qualitative research on risk perception of hiking and cross-country enthusiasts through literature research, interview, grounded theory and other methods.By means of psychometric and mathematical statistics, the risk perception of hiking enthusiasts was quantitatively studied. The results show that:(1)Risk perception of hiking cross-country enthusiasts refers to the intuitive judgment and subjective feeling of people who like to carry out physical activities in the "wild" environment, such as holding sticks with their hands and moving forward with their feet in harmony, and various potential and objective risks in such activities;(2)Risk perception of hiking cross-country enthusiasts includes 5 dimensions, including hiking environment, hiking organization, hiking personnel, hiking route and hiking equipment;(3)The risk perception scale for hiking cross-country enthusiasts includes 5 dimensions, including hiking environment, hiking organization, hiking personnel, hiking route and hiking equipment, with a total of 16 items, and the reliability and validity are good. The level of risk perception was measured by different dimensions of possibility, controllability and severity;(4)There is little difference in the overall risk cognition level of hiking cross-country enthusiasts, among which, the risk perception level of hiking environment dimension is the highest, while that of hikers is the lowest. The risk perception of hiking cross-country enthusiasts is different in the possibility, controllability and severity of hiking environment, hiking organization, hiking personnel, hiking route and hiking equipment.(5)In the analysis of risk perception difference among hiking enthusiasts, gender and hiking years have significant differences in hiking environment dimension;Occupation has significant difference in the dimension of walking organization;Hiking years has significant difference in the dimension of hiking personnel. There were no significant differences in age and education. The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)The risk perception dimension of hiking cross-country enthusiasts is divided into internal and external source dimension, and endogenous dimension includes hiking organization and hiking personnel; The exogenous dimension includes hiking environment, hiking route and hiking equipment.(2)The risk perception scale for hiking and cross-country lovers consists of two parts:demographic information and risk perception level. It has good reliability and validity and can effectively measure the level of risk perception.(3)There is little difference in the overall level of risk perception among hiking and cross-country enthusiasts, and the level of risk perception in exogenous dimension is higher than that in endogenous dimension. The level of risk perception of hiking environment dimension is uniform, and the level of risk cognition is high. The level of risk cognition of hikers was low.(4)There are significant differences in risk perception level of hiking cross-country enthusiasts in terms of gender, occupation and hiking years, while there are no significant differences in education and age.
