Geography homework is an important part of geography teaching activities,which plays a role in consolidating students’ basic knowledge of geography,improving geography learning ability,and cultivating geography core literacy.With the introduction and implementation of the "double reduction" policy,the wave of reform of geography homework has also followed,and how to implement the "double reduction" policy through homework design and reduce the burden of students’ homework is the focus of geography homework reform in junior high schools.Although many schools and geography educators have actively explored geography assignment design,its problems are still prominent.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to reduce students’ homework burden and improve students’ core geographic literacy by conducting in-depth investigation and analysis on the current situation of geography homework design under the background of "double reduction",understanding the problems existing in geography homework design and studying homework design strategies.First of all,this thesis reviews the research background,significance and current situation of domestic and international research on geography assignment design in the context of "double reduction" through literature study,clarifies the connotation of junior high school geography assignment and junior high school geography assignment design in the context of "double reduction",and summarizes the theoretical basis of assignment design.The theoretical research basis of assignment design is summarized.Secondly,a questionnaire survey is used to understand the current situation of geography teachers’ homework design and students’ homework completion in the context of "double reduction",and the problems and reasons of current junior high school geography homework design are discussed.Again,based on the analysis of the problems and causes,we propose the principles,strategies and processes of geography assignment design in junior high school under the background of "double reduction".Finally,based on the current "double reduction" background,the design of "double reduction" geography assignments is carried out based on the new geography curriculum standards and the assignment design strategies.The case study method is used to implement the "double reduction" geography assignments in real teaching,and student interviews are conducted to compare and analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the "double reduction" geography assignments.The main findings of this thesis are as follows:(1)The survey found that the total amount and duration of geography homework in junior high school have been effectively reduced under the current "double reduction" background,but there are still some problems in geography operation design,including excessive orientation of homework design,lack of hierarchy of design objects,single source of design materials,less homework in practical activities,and unsatisfactory homework marking and evaluation effects.The reasons for the existence of these problems mainly include the following points: First,geography teachers do not have a thorough understanding of the concept of "double reduction" and lack in-depth exploration and thinking about homework design in daily teaching.Secondly,the second year of junior high school students are about to face the geography examination,and the students’ learning tasks are relatively heavy,which further provides restrictions for teachers’ homework design.Finally,the school did not pay enough attention to homework design and homework management,and failed to play a leading role in overall planning.(2)Under the background of "double reduction",geography teachers should follow the principles of moderation,life,stratification,practice and interdisciplinarity when designing homework,and the "double reduction" homework design strategy should run through all aspects of geography homework design,and geography homework can be designed according to the five processes of analyzing the background,setting goals,selecting forms,setting content,and formulating evaluation.
