In July 2021,The General Office of the State Council and the General Office of the CPC Central Com mittee jointly issued Opinions on Further Reducing the Homework Burden and Off-campus Training Burde n of Students in Compulsory Education(hereinafter referred to as "double reduction").The implementation of this policy makes "homework burden reduction" once again a hot topic in education.The current math h omework has a single form,more repeated training,lack of practice,and lack of pertinence,resulting in the homework does not play its real function.Therefore,under the background of "double minus",it is of great significance to study the design of mathematics homework.In the process of research,literature research method is used to study,sort out and summarize the litera ture materials related to homework at home and abroad,so that it has the idea of studying homework design.In order to investigate the current situation of mathematics homework of eighth grade students after the im plementation of "double reduction" policy,this paper adopts the method of student questionnaire survey an d teacher interview.Through the analysis of the survey results,it is found that although the amount of math homework in eighth grade is reduced,there are still some problems,such as the lack of hierarchical homew ork,the lack of function,the monotonous form of homework and so on.Based on the six principles and two objectives of homework design,this paper puts forward four targeted strategies,including layering homew ork design,broadening the source of homework topics,enriching the types of homework and improving the function of homework.Taking the homework of the eighth grade edition of the Pythagorean Theorem as a n example,Based on the analysis of the new curriculum standard(2022 edition)and teaching materials,the important and difficult points are determined,and according to the knowledge level of students,from the t wo aspects of homework stratification and homework form,four types of homework types are designed,inc luding consolidation,understanding,openness and practice,and the homework is studied in practice.From the practical results,compared with the consolidation work and understanding work,the results of students completing open work and practical work are not ideal,but the open work and practical work effectively im prove the students’interest in math work.The "double reduction" policy requires that homework should be improved in quality and reduced in q uantity,which is a challenge for mathematics teachers.Teachers should not only enrich their own teaching experience,but also have rich homework resources after class.This paper is a research on the design of ho mework in eighth grade on the basis of previous studies,which can provide some reasonable reference for t he design of homework in eighth grade mathematics under the background of "double minus".
