Research On Guiding College Students’ Cognition Of " Needs For A Better Life" In The New Era

Satisfying the “needs for a better life” is the common value pursuit of human beings throughout the history.As China is currently entering the new era,this process can be realized by taking people as the foremost,regarding the real world as the field,and the creation through human.From the theoretical perspective of Marxist theory of value and Sinicization of Marxism,this paper mainly focuses on college students in the new era of China to explore their cognitive status on the “needs for a better life” through questionnaire survey,and the theoretical analysis,aiming at providing approaches on guiding college students to properly cognize.Apart from the introduction,this paper is mainly divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces theoretical background and interprets concepts.The theoretical background mainly consists of the narration of relevant theories and practices of “good life” by Marxist authors,the important theory on “good life” from five dimensions by Xi Jinping,the Communist Party of China’s centenary endeavor,and Chinese traditional culture;and,the later part defines and distinguishes the basic concept and connotation of “good life”,“needs for a better life” and “needs for a better life of college students in the new era”.They jointly lay the solid theoretical foundation for this research.The second chapter makes corresponding questionnaires and conducts empirical survey about the defined connotation of “needs for a better life of college students in the new era”.Summarily,most college students in the new era can correctly understand the “needs for a better life”,have a balanced cognition on substance needs and emotional needs,emphasize the needs on interpersonal relationships,hold the strong sense of social responsibility,and pay attention to personal development and the ability to practice;yet,cognitive bias still exits around few students surveyed that they focus more on substance needs.These students tend to be utilitarian and individualism;whereas they lack the understanding the ability to practice.Biases may be caused by five reasons,such as cognition guidance deficiencies,conflicts by various cultures,increasing living difficulties,limitations of interpersonal situations,and the imbalance on supply of substance and emotion.The third chapter jointly analyzes potential problems and causes of college students’ cognition on “needs for a better life”.With students’ living field,cognition guidance is provided via three paths: macroscopic,mesoscopic,and microscopic.Colleges and universities enhance the second class and extracurricular activities,as well as carry out indispensable ideological and political courses,aiming at improving happy items in college life.At the society level,college students’ comprehensive development needs to be encouraged,and institutional system should be built to cultivate the correct idea of college students and ensure their correct political direction.Individually,students need to cultivate themselves,integrate individual needs and social needs,and improve social morality.The fourth chapter proposes feasible cognition guidance measure based on particularity of college students in the new era.In practice,students can be led from the examples of social figures and celebrities,the identification of cyberspace and the means of building good family atmosphere.Social guidance for college students’ cognition on their needs for a better life conduct collaboratively by three aspects of college interpersonal skills cultivation and emotional education,construction of psychological service system and the respect for college students’ individual differences at social aspect.The combination of labor education,leisure education and innovative talent cultivation mechanism make joint efforts to lead their personal survival and development.
