| The teaching concept oriented to the development of core literacy in mathematics has become one of the founding concepts of the mathematics curriculum in basic education.The PBL teaching model based on constructivist mathematics education theory has proved to be of great value and significance in developing students’ ability to investigate and discover,analyze and solve problems.The content of the numerical series unit contains profound mathematical ideas and methods,and has important educational resources and values in cultivating students’ mindset of mathematical discovery such as observation,induction,conjecture and argumentation.However,there is not much research on how to apply the PBL teaching mode to the teaching of number series units,how to reveal the essence of mathematics,stimulate students’ interest,and enhance students’ knowledge understanding,active thinking,transfer and application,analysis,and creative problem-solving skills,and further in-depth research is still needed.Based on the literature analysis,the teaching characteristics and advantages of PBL teaching mode in teaching number series were derived,and five practical cases of PBL teaching mode in teaching number series were designed with the core literacy of mathematics discipline and Freidenthal’s mathematics education theory as the guide.The empirical study was conducted on "The Concept of Equivariant Series and its General Formula" and "The Sum of Predecessors of Equivariant Series".Combining with questionnaires and interviews,it was found that the PBL teaching mode has the effect of stimulating students’ intrinsic motivation,improving students’ ability of transfer and application,analysis and creative problem solving,and improving students’ performance in mathematics.This study gives suggestions for applying the PBL teaching mode in high school mathematics teaching:(1)intervene at the right time and grasp the classroom rhythm;(2)respect students’ right to speak independently;and(3)set up reasonable driving questions. |
