As one of the major diseases threatening human health, cancer has negative effects on patients’ physical and mental, spiritual, emotional and social functions to varying degrees.Social work methods can play a role in this,in addition to helping them cure their diseases through medical means. However, hospitals often have defects such as large flow of people, lack of privacy, noisy environment and limited professional space,so they are not ideal fields to carry out social work services. In this atypical field, aiming at the problem of low stress resistance of cancer patients, how to carry out social work services, try to avoid the influence of atypical field factors on the service process, and help them improve their own stress resistance level are important issues worth studying. It is not only beneficial to the recovery of tumor patients, but also has reference value to the practice of medical social work. Most of the patients in the oncology department of N Hospital come from all over J Province. Most of the patients will choose periodic treatment after their condition becomes stable. They can barely accept the status quo and are willing to actively cooperate with treatment, but they are often unable to cope with the difficulties brought by this, and they know little about medical social workers. Many patients have low levels of stress tolerance as measured by an stress meter. The main reasons include:lack of external support;Lack of inherent advantages;Poor efficiency. On the other hand, they have a strong need for external support, internal advantages and efficiency to improve their resilience. In order to help cancer patients improve their stress resistance, the author designed a stress resistance improvement team, which selected seven cancer patients as members. The strategies for atypical field factors were as follows:select fixed service objects;Create the right atmosphere;Use online platforms. The intervention was carried out through seven activities in four stages:beginning, development, maturity and end of the group.Through process evaluation and result evaluation, the team has accomplished most of the goals.By summarizing the intervention of group work,it can be seen that group work is helpful to improve the resistance of cancer patients;Social work must attach great importance to the negative effects of atypical field factors. On the other hand, the intervention of the reflection group work also found that the group work has some limitations, that is,the support is limited, the effectiveness needs to be further consolidated; The coping strategies of atypical field factors need to be further improved, that is,to pay attention to the sense of participation of online members and strengthen the interaction with online members.
