The document issued by the General Office of the Communist party of China(CPC)Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council in October 2020,entitled Suggestions on comprehensively strengthening and improving aesthetic education in schools in the new era,emphasizes that motivating students’ artistic interest and creative mindset should be paid enough attention in the compulsory education stage.According to Art Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 ED),the artistic curriculum in compulsory education is of importance for implementing aesthetic education,sentiment education,spiritual education,and imagination and innovation cultivation.Accordingly,it is essential to incubate a creative mindset.Of artistic curriculums,creation is one of the musical teaching items in the stage of compulsory education.“Holding the concept of creation involves the exploration of music and other sounds and the application of learned knowledge,skills and creative mindset to perform improvised shows and activities,express inward thoughts and originalities,as well as elevate the quality of creative practice”.Moreover,“It is a good time to cultivate thoughts,memory,outsight and imagination in primary school,as the recognitive development and memory development of kids are fast,coordinating,exoteric and malleable.In another word,the stage of primary school is the optimal time for cultivating a creative mindset”.Therefore,musical creation is of great significance for the cultivation of a creative mindset,and students in primary school are the most suitable audiences.Given the above,in this study,the idea of“primary school music creation teaching” obeying the guidance of Art Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 ED)was proposed and used for the incubation of creative mindset during the process of musical creation teaching in primary school.The contents of this study are divided into three parts.The first part is theoretical study,in which the concept and characters of primary school music creation teaching was specifically explicated to provide theoretical evidence for the second and third parts.Next,in the second part,the actuality of music creation teaching in primary school was analyzed with the methods of questionnaire survey,interview and observation,focusing on specifying the advantage and disadvantages,to provide specific objectives in the third part.Finally,solutions were excavated to resolve the proposed objectives specified in the second part,namely,how to incubate the creative mindset of students during the musical teaching in primary school.Three conclusive results are obtained and shown below.For the first part,this study mainly encompassed the two keywords of creative mindset and primary school music creation teaching for theoretical elucidation,analyze the concept and characters of creative mindset,the teaching items and training modes suitable for the students in primary school,as well as the concept and characters of primary school music creation teaching.For the second part,according to the methods of questionnaire survey,interview and observation,there are several disadvantages and disadvantages to music creation teaching in primary school.On the one hand,mainly including three advantages,(1)the music literacy of the musical teachers in primary school is overall great,(2)the teaching environment for primary school music creation teaching is overall great,and(3)the goals of different teaching stages are clearly defined by these teachers.On the other hand,however,there also have some drawbacks,including(1)primary school music teachers have a vague understanding of creative thinking,(2)lack of implementation of cultivating creative thinking in teaching,(3)teachers lack training resources related to creative thinking,(4)elementary school students have varying levels of basic music knowledge.For the third part,action study was established to handle the drawbacks found in the aforementioned surveys.Over the two-month study,4 major solutions were summarized,including(1)strengthening Teachers’ Emphasis and Understanding of Creative Thinking through Practice,(2)stimulating creative thinking through music activities that align with students’ cognition,(3)synchronous cultivation of knowledge and skills is beneficial for the implementation of creative thinking,(4)selecting works related to creative thinking during the training process.
