| In the context of era where the consolidation of the Chinese national community consciousness is emphasized,and the reality of strengthening the theoretical construction of consolidation of the of Chinese national community consciousness,it is imperative to implement specialized and standardized education on the Chinese national community consciousness.In response to the multifaceted social environment of Guangxi’s border regions,characterized by transnationality,geographic remoteness,ethnic diversity and rural conditions,fostering the Chinese national community consciousness has emerged as a pivotal component within the education system.The junior high school years is a rational cognitive period for the youth in the Guangxi border region to internalize the sense of the Chinese national community,and also a formative stage for collective values.The junior high school years is the period when youth in Guangxi border systematically accept the rational cognition education of Chinese national community consciousness,and also a formative stage for collective values.Focusing on junior high schools in Guangxi border areas can help strengthen rational cognition of Chinese national community among youth and cultivate their "Integral Whole" sentiment.Guangxi is a demonstration area for national unity and progress.Many junior high schools in Guangxi border areas have made efforts to carry out and implement the education of Chinese national community consciousness.However,there are still problems in the implementation of the education of Chinese national community consciousness due to one-sided understanding of its connotations among other reasons,such as being blurred or generalized.By analyzing the policy texts,it is concluded that the value orientation and practical direction of Chinese national community consciousness education in the new era is to "enhance commonality".The cultivation of a sense of identity with the Chinese nation at a higher level and the transcendence of ethnic limitations among young people are the prominent values of Chinese national community consciousness education in the new era.After taking into full account the social environment and cognitive characteristics of junior high school students in Guangxi border areas,this is study clarified the connotations,value and nurturing logic of Chinese national community consciousness education in junior high schools located in Guangxi border regions.This study selected a representative L junior school located in the border region of Guangxi,and employed methods such as questionnaires surveys,open-ended interviews,and non-participant observation to collected data.A total of 304 student questionnaires,70 teacher questionnaires were collected,and 9 teachers or administrators were interviewed.The study found that the school attached great importance to and credibly promoted education work,with the core educational content focusing on cultivating students’ "five identities" and utilizing diverse approaches for cultivating Chinese national community consciousness.Overall,students’ emotional identification with the Chinese national community consciousness has increased.However,this study also identified several shortcomings,including that the insufficient understanding of the cognitive basis for forging a consciousness of Chinese national community and the insufficient grasp of the "four pairs of relationships" in forging a consciousness of the Chinese nation community and the insufficient utilization and development of educational resources are the shortcomings observed for the school.A comprehensive analysis attributed this to the unclear understanding towards the connotation of Chinese national community consciousness education,the lack of targeted educational content,the lack of emphasis on the "Four Comprehensives" elements,the single mode of education,and the inadequacy of authentic cultural integration experiences.Meanwhile,The issue is exacerbated by the lack of educational safeguards,such as targeted educational guidelines,professional teachers,and sound assessment mechanisms.Therefore,this study proposed several optimized strategies for promoting Chinese national community consciousness education combining the connotation of the new era and the reality in Guangxi border areas,from the education concept,content,methods and security system.Firstly,the concept of education on Chinese national community consciousness should be undated,including establishing the educational consciousness of "promoting commonality",deeply practicing the moral education of cultivating virtues,and insisting on people-centered education.Secondly,the educational contents of promoting the "Four common" cognition should be enriched,including increasing the historical education on common revolutionary construction,expanding the cultural education on common value consensus,and increasing the national education of common pioneering and governance.Thirdly,the innovative educational approaches should be adopted to inspire emotions and behaviors of "community" through student-centered curriculum,cultural fusion in thematic activities,and a campus atmosphere emphasizing the integrity of the Chinese nation.Fourthly,a sound security system should be established for the education of Chinese national community consciousness,including the establishment of a normalization mechanism,strengthening the political quality of the teachers in border areas,and establishing an evaluation system.On the basis of clarifying defining the direction and connotation of Chinese national community consciousness education,a comprehensive implementation of the above strategies and recommendations is necessary in order to gradually address the problems present in the practical processes of junior schools located in Guangxi’s border regions,thus effectively facilitating the comprehensive development of education aimed at cultivating the Chinese national community consciousness. |
