Since the 19 th Party Congress was held in 2017,cultivating and forging a sense of Chinese national community has received widespread attention among primary and secondary school student groups.In order to achieve the goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,it is necessary to practise the concept of the Chinese national community,to cultivate responsible socialist builders and future leaders,to safeguard the unity of the motherland and to enhance national unity.At the same time,the dual nature of the language subject as an instrumental and humanistic subject,the four core qualities of cultural confidence,language use,thinking skills and aesthetic creativity,and the concept of humanistic education in the curriculum determine that the language subject has an irreplaceable advantage in cultivating a sense of Chinese national community.However,the current research on cultivating a sense of Chinese national community is mainly at the theoretical level,with relatively little research on cultivating a sense of Chinese national community in specific subjects,and even less research on cultivating a sense of Chinese national community in primary school language teaching.Therefore,this study uses literature analysis,questionnaires and interviews to investigate the current situation,problems and influencing factors,and to refine specific strategies for cultivating a sense of Chinese community in primary school language teaching based on the findings of this study.The research focuses on the following: a theoretical analysis of Chinese national community consciousness,the relationship between the cultivation of Chinese national community consciousness and primary school language teaching,the current situation of cultivating Chinese national community consciousness in primary school language teaching,the existing problems and their causes,and specific strategies for cultivating Chinese national community consciousness in primary school language teaching.Through literature analysis and research,this study has come to the following conclusions: First,the core content of Chinese national community consciousness: the core content of Chinese national community consciousness is "five identities",which are identification with the great motherland,the Chinese nation,Chinese culture,the Communist Party of China and socialism with Chinese characteristics.Secondly,the relationship between the cultivation of Chinese national community consciousness and primary school language teaching: Cultivating Chinese national community consciousness is an inevitable requirement for strengthening Chinese national community education,national stability and national unity,and is also in line with the need to cultivate primary school students’ patriotic sentiments;it is in line with the need to cultivate students’ core language literacy;it is in line with the need to implement the fundamental task of establishing moral education.The "five identities" in primary school language teaching materials are rich in content;patriotic education and national unity education have laid the foundation for the cultivation of Chinese national community consciousness;cultivating Chinese national community consciousness in primary school language teaching is in line with the characteristics of primary school students’ psychological development.Thirdly,there are problems with the cultivation of a sense of community among the Chinese nation in primary school language teaching:teachers do not have a deep understanding of the sense of community among the Chinese nation,and there is arbitrariness in all aspects of teaching.Fourthly,the causes of the problems: firstly,the subjective reasons that teachers are weak in their awareness and do not take the initiative to update their knowledge system and teaching philosophy;secondly,the objective reasons that frontline teachers’ teaching training is insufficient or delayed,the assessment of teaching effectiveness is unclear,educational and teaching research is not yet sufficient,and teachers do not apply the laws of language teaching accurately enough.Through careful analysis,this paper attempts to propose diversified countermeasures in terms of teaching concepts,teacher literacy and teaching processes: firstly,to raise the level of ideology and update teachers’ knowledge structure and teaching philosophy of Chinese community consciousness.Second,implement training and assessment to stimulate teachers’ external motivation to cultivate a sense of Chinese national community.Third,standardise the teaching process to reflect the special nature of cultivating a sense of Chinese national community,and fourth,follow the laws of language teaching and integrate them into the whole process of cultivating a sense of Chinese national community.
