The construction of ideological and political theory courses in higher education depends on the strength of teachers,whose quality affects the quality of their teaching and is an important factor in their political orientation,value orientation and moral education.The quality of teachers of ideological and political theory courses in universities should be improved,including Marx’s doctrine of "comprehensive and free development of man",the theoretical basis of the Party’s ideological and political workforce and Xi Jinping’s training of teachers of ideological and political theory courses;its practical basis is the urgent need for national and social development in the new era,enhancing the effectiveness of ideological and political theory courses in universities.effectiveness of political theory courses,and the inherent need for the development of teachers of ideological and political theory courses themselves.The basic qualities of ideological and political theory course teachers’ quality are political quality,ideological quality,moral quality,knowledge quality and ability quality.It is clear from the questionnaire that the quality of teachers of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities is on the whole relatively high,mainly in terms of: strong Marxist beliefs,high professional identity,strong professional theoretical knowledge,scientific research,strong learning ability and open-mindedness.However,there are still problems with the quality of teachers of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities,including the political acumen of a few teachers,the deviation of a few teachers’ values,the connection between theory and practice of a few teachers,the lack of teaching innovation ability of individual teachers,and the high psychological pressure of individual teachers.The reasons for this phenomenon are: the teachers’ own reasons,the universities’ own reasons and the society’s reasons.How to improve the quality of the teachers of ideological and political theory courses in universities?
