| With the development of urban economy,China’s rural population continues to enter urban employment, initiating the largest population migration in the history of global urbanization.More and more migrant workers in cities let their children follow them into the city.A large number of rural children follow their parents to move to the city and settle down in the city, resulting in a new group of children of urban residents."Village in the city" has gradually become a foothold for migrant workers in the city.As a migrant city, has a large proportion of floating population.Among these people, the group of children of new citizens has received considerable attention in recent years. However, according to the research and practice of scholars at home and abroad, most of them focus on the educational integration of children of new citizens, with less attention paid to their cultural integration.Cultural integration is a measure of whether it truly integrates into the city and becomes the ultimate home and destination of citizens.Community life is the first step for the children into the city.As the carrier of their integration into the city, urban villages live and grow in this environment, generating a recognition and identification of themselves, their communities, and even the entire society. In view of this, the issue of community cultural integration of the children of new citizens in urban villages cannot be ignored. This study takes the children of new residents in the village community of S City as the research object, using the method of semi structured interviews and participatory observation,to analyze the problems existing in their community cultural integration.Through previous research,it has been found that there are dilemmas such as monotonous extracurricular activities, monotonous cultural activities, limited interpersonal relationships, closed communication circles, insufficient social participation, lack of cultural identity, inferiority complex caused by urban cultural discrimination, and a sense of distance from urban communities due to differences in customs and habits.Based on this, this study analyzed the causes of the problem with the support of ecosystem theory. After preliminary data collection and demand analysis, group activities on three different topics were conducted using the professional method of group work in social work. Finally, through the evaluation of service effectiveness,it was found that the involvement of group work has to some extent promoted the cultural integration of new citizens’ children and their self-confidence,enriched cultural activities, expanded the interpersonal circle, and enhanced community cultural identity and sense of belonging. Therefore, the involvement of social work has played a certain role in promoting the integration of community culture among the children of new citizens. This study proposes feasible solutions for the community cultural integration of the children of new citizens in urban villages, with a view to providing some experience for subsequent research on the integration of cultural life in the community of the children of new citizens. |
