| The promulgation and implementation of the 2022 version of the "Compulsory Education Geography Curriculum Standards" have made interdisciplinary thematic learning activities a very important part of the geography curriculum.The curriculum standards point out that geography practice can be implemented with the requirements of course content and interdisciplinary thematic learning activities.Therefore,this article designs middle school geography interdisciplinary thematic learning practice activities that combine interdisciplinary thematic learning content with practice activity forms.The geography curriculum standards also emphasize fully mining local geography resources and achieving self-designed learning.Therefore,local geography resources have become an important curriculum resource for middle school geography interdisciplinary thematic learning practice activities.The two major research contents of this article are the content research and design strategies of cross-disciplinary thematic learning practical activities in junior high school geography.The study employs six research methods: literature analysis,questionnaire survey,interview,case study,action research,and field investigation.Specific work includes: firstly,analyzing the "cross-disciplinary thematic learning activities" section of the curriculum standards;secondly,collecting local geographic professional literature,literature,websites,videos,and public accounts in Ulterior Qi,summarizing the local characteristics of the area through field visits and interviews;thirdly,selecting Ulterior Qi junior high school geographic cross-disciplinary thematic learning practical activity course resources from numerous local resources and conducting analysis to determine project themes;fourthly,compiling typical cases,extracting viewpoints,and drawing lessons from their strengths to obtain case analysis insights;fifthly,conducting a questionnaire survey and interviews to understand student and teacher suggestions on the research content and design strategy of this article;sixthly,based on the 4F teaching model,summarizing the design process and constructing a design template.Finally,based on the case analysis,interviews,questionnaires,and the local geographical features of Ulat Front banner,a design and implementation case study was conducted to derive insights into the general strategies for designing interdisciplinary theme-based learning activities in middle school geography.The study concluded that:Firstly,after collecting and researching the local resources of Urad Front Banner,the research summarized the local characteristics as "colorful culture,ancient banner","top of the three officials,important transportation hub","mountains and water dependent,beautiful banner","livable county town,most beautiful countryside","continental monsoon,internal differences","solid industry,green production","resource-rich,endowed with Hetao".Secondly,by collecting relevant materials on local geography in Urad Front Banner,conducting field investigations and surveys,and integrating with the cross-curricular thematic learning activities in the2022 version of the National Curriculum Standards for Geography at the compulsory education level,a total of 26 local geography resources in Urad Front Banner suitable for cross-disciplinary thematic learning activities at the middle school level have been identified and categorized into seven major themes: historical and cultural,ethnic customs,mountain and water scenery,urban landscapes,rural landscapes,government agencies,and factories and companies.Thirdly,by collecting relevant materials on local geography in Urad Front Banner,conducting field investigations and surveys,and integrating with the cross-curricular thematic learning activities in the 2022 version of the National Curriculum Standards for Geography at the compulsory education level,11 cross-disciplinary thematic learning projects suitable for middle school students in Urad Front Banner were selected for implementation.The project themes are "From Walking in the Forest Park to Campus Greening Design," "Little Meteorologist,Guarding My Home," "Variations of Public Field Village," "From the Dried-up Canal to the Scenic River," "The Plundered Wula Mountain," "Playing the Song of Gua Township,Supporting Hometown Construction," "Goji Berries Embellishing the Fire-red Life," "From the Disappearance of Fish to the Paradise of Migratory Birds," "Green Rise of Urad Front Banner," "Colorful Culture of Urad Front Banner," and "Urad Front Banner with a Long History." Activity plans were designed for five of these projects.Fourthly,based on the requirements and theoretical foundation of the curriculum standard as the basic reference,and case analysis,design,implementation,investigation,and interviews as factual evidence,a strategy is developed for designing practical activities for cross-disciplinary thematic learning in junior high school geography.The design strategy includes: learning themes-finding ways to integrate subjects,based on the curriculum standard and student needs,using local geography as the carrier;learning objectives-balancing core competencies to be cultivated in geography courses with core competencies in cross-disciplinary areas;learning content-centered on the discipline of geography,integrating knowledge and methods from multiple disciplines;learning processes-driven by meaningful,real and relevant and problems,based on the 4F teaching model;learning evaluation-focusing on core competencies,with an emphasis on cross-disciplinary competencies. |
