With the increasing prevalence of divorce,the disintegration of the family structure has caused incalculable harm to children,and children from single-parent families are generally less confident than those from two-parent families.Self-confidence plays an important role in the development of personality,and childhood is the critical period for the establishment of self-confidence.Our government has given support to children from single-parent families in environmental improvement,poverty alleviation and other aspects,but children’s mental health problems are ignored to a certain extent.In the past,most studies were carried out from home and school,and the research process was limited.Most of them were specific analysis of specific problems,and the theory without forming a system was not strong guidance to reality.Through the investigation of 33 single parent family members aged 5-35 years and 20 children from two-parent families,a total of 53 people,to explore the causes and manifestations of the lack of confidence in children from single parent families.Based on the guidance of self-identity theory,Erikson’s eight-stage theory of personality development and advantage perspective,this thesis focuses on the application of social work in the improvement of children’s self-confidence,and explores the ways and methods of specialization in group activities.The validity of the group was verified by the self-confidence scale developed by Rosenberg,the Chinese version of the Self-efficacy Scale GSES,the self-evaluation scale,the group satisfaction survey feedback form and the achievement of group members’ goals.As a way of intervention,social work can give play to its advantages of strong practicality,situational practice and self-help,and can make up for the current situation of weak research guidance in the past.In the combination of theory and practice to seek practical skills,looking for the effectiveness of the group,to solve the problems of children from single-parent families low self-esteem,social dissonance,low sense of self-identity,is conducive to the cultivation of children from single-parent families self-confidence.
