Research On The Fertility Intention Of Urban Childless Middle-Class Women Based On Individualization

Population decline,aging and ultra-low fertility rate constitute the 21 st century population crisis,and ultra-low fertility desire is the source of this crisis.At present,many important indicators of Chinese economic and social development leap to the forefront of the world,the national living standard is improving year by year,the government has formulated more and more policies related to birth and rearing,medical technology has overcome many problems in birth,theoretically,the difficulty and obstacle of birth is getting lower and lower.In this context,the first childbearing age of urban middle-class women has been delayed year by year,and the fertility rate has declined rapidly.Therefore,it has become an important topic to explore female fertility intention.According to the individualization theory,this thesis carries out an empirical study on the fertility intention of the childless middle-class women in Beijing.Through combing and reviewing the literature,it is found that there is a convergence between the fertility intention and individual development of urban childless middle-class women.However,most of the current research on fertility intention adopts quantitative methods to focus on structural factors.This thesis conducts research on the childless middle-class women in Beijing with different education levels,occupational levels and family backgrounds,focusing on the mutual construction process of individuation and fertility intention.The urban childless middle-class women involved in the market economy and the tide of globalization,they have a more in-depth understanding of education,career,family,love,values.These factors and individual development supplement each other,and they are embedding in women of fertility intention.At the same time,the change of fertility intentions act on individual development,their fertility intentions and individualized process are mutually constructed.The change of fertility intention accords with the characteristics of individual development.The individual development of urban childless middle-class women is a long-term process,they also need to experience life for a long time to change their fertility intention.In the environment of improving structural impact,how to find the balance of a female individual development needs and the social expectation,that would be the next research direction to make the current policy on birth control get positive response.
