Reading teaching occupies almost the majority of the Chinese curriculum time,but the problems of difficulty and low teaching efficiency in reading teaching are still widespread.With the comprehensive implementation of the new curriculum reform,teachers have become the guider from the master of the class and students have become the masters of the class.Some gratifying changes have taken place in Chinese education and teaching.In the context of curriculum reform,teachers have begun to explore various forms and methods of teaching.With multimedia,group work and independent learning being used in class,Chinese classroom presents a new look.Throughout these changes,teachers seem to be racking their brains around ’how to teach’,but the most important ’what to teach’ is being selectively ignored.In the specific practice of reading instruction,the phenomenon of sloppy reading teaching still exists and the written language is ignored.Attention is focused on macro-level analysis such as thematic ideas,and microscopic interpretation of the text is lacking.As a result,the theory of close reading of texts,which is in line with the new curriculum,has received increasing attention from academics and scholars,who have called for the application of this theory to the practice of reading teaching.Unlike the New Criticism’s close reading of texts,the close reading of texts in the context of language reading teaching can improve the current situation of the lack of micro-analysis in reading teaching.This paper explores and analyses the current situation of language reading teaching in junior high school,introducing the theory of close reading of text to solve and improve some problems.,using Lu Xun’s works as an example to elaborate on how to use text close reading as an effective reading method,which provides concrete and feasible close reading strategies for front-line Chinese teachers.The first chapter of this paper explains and interprets the new connotation and practical value of close reading of texts in the context of language reading teaching,so as to lay a good theoretical foundation for the research that follows.The second chapter mainly investigates and analyses the current situation of language reading teaching in junior high schools and identifies the existing problems according to the actual investigation,analyzing the causes of the existing problems.On the basis of the investigation,the third chapter of the thesis takes Lu Xun’s works as an example to analyse how to apply the method of close reading to reading teaching and solve some of the problems that arise in current reading teaching.The fourth chapter of the thesis takes a concrete case study and applies the close reading strategies from chapter three to the teaching design of the text. |
