| Since the new version of Chinese Curriculum Standards for Ordinary Senior High Schools was issued in 2017,the research on reading teaching of the whole book has set off a wave of upsurge in Chinese teaching circle.Experts and scholars have conducted abundant theoretical research on this field,and many high-quality whole-book reading teaching cases have been provided by leading teachers.But when it comes to the real Chinese classroom teaching,the situation is not optimistic.After defining the concept of “The Reading of The Whole Book ”and “Excerpted Novel”,basing on the relationship between the excerpted novel and the corresponding whole book in Chinese textbooks,this paper is committed to exploring the effective path of the whole book reading teaching in junior high school.Through questionnaire,interview survey and case study,there are still many challenges in “the teaching of excerpted novel in junior middle school which point to the reading of the whole book” The main problems are as follows: First,in the initial reading of the whole book,reading in class is separate from reading out of class,and the overall planning is lacking;students lack good reading habits,and the whole book is formalized at first reading;the children lack internal motivation to read and their interest in reading is not high.Second,in the excerpted novel teaching,teachers lack of initiative in lesson preparation,there is a one-size-fits-all tendency;they often treat excerpts from novels as ordinary texts,which is easy to misread;and the whole book will be passed to the students in the form of fragments,with teachers to speak instead of students to read.Third,in the process of intensive reading of the whole book,teachers will guide students to read the whole book with the help of excerpts,but there is still a lack of guidance;random selection of entry point is a common phenomenon during the intensive reading of the whole book,which leads to fragmented reading;teaching evaluation is mechanical and single,which is easy to discourage students’ reading enthusiasm.In view of the above problems in “the teaching of excerpted novel in junior middle school which point to the reading of the whole book”,this paper puts forward the teaching principles of integrity,pertinence and depth under the guidance of scientific theories such as holism,procedural teaching theory,reading teaching hierarchy theory and Bloom’s classification of educational objectives.Based on the teaching principles,three steps of interlocking reading teaching process are designed,which are the first reading of the whole book,the study of excerpts and the intensive reading of the whole book.Then,specific,systematic and maneuverable teaching strategies are proposed from four aspects: overall planning before reading,strengthening guidance in first reading,task-driven in the teaching of excerpts and the intensive reading of the whole book,and effective evaluation after reading.Then,take “Water Margin” and “Outlaws of the Marsh” as an example to design a detailed teaching program.Its purpose is to guide students to promote the deep learning of novel excerpts with the help of the first reading experience of the whole book,stimulate the interest of the whole book in intensive reading by the effective learning of the excerpts,and master the reading strategies.So as to improve the reading depth of the whole novel,develop students’ higher-order reading thinking,and cultivate students’ core literacy of Chinese subject in a subtle way. |
