| Area problem has always been an important problem in the field of mathematics,which is of great significance to the improvement of students’ problem-solving ability and the cultivation of innovation consciousness.The purpose of this study is to compile a "area" problem test paper,through the test,to explore how the sixth grade students to solve the area problem,and the types of mistakes in the process of solving the problem,and to interview to understand the reasons of students’ mistakes,as a reference for teachers’ teaching.In this study,182sixth-grade students were surveyed,and the collected data were collated and analyzed,and the following study results were obtained:1.The overall performance of students solving area problem: the overall performance of sixth grade students solving area problem is poor.In the four dimensions of triangle area,quadrilateralarea,combined figure area and circular area,the overall performance of the circular area dimension is better than the other three dimensions.2.The specific performance of students in solving the area problem:for the same dimension,the high group accuracy rate is better than the middle group,and the middle group accuracy rate isbetter than the low group.On the area of the four dimensions,the grades of the three groups were low,middle and high.3.Students ’errors and reasons: students’ mistakes are mainly ignorant of the geometric meaning of area formula,wrong in the application of formula;the lack of diversity in problem solving strategies,the addition of graph overlap;the lack of understanding of the diameter of the circle,andthe lack of flexibility in thinking.The factors that affect students to solve the area problem include: students’ weak knowledge foundation,forgetting the knowledge learned before;by the interference of irrelevant factors,students cannot correctly identify the graphics information;students’ uncorrect learning attitude and doing problems seriously;The difficulty of the topic,the training degree of the teacher in the teaching process,and the practice involved in the textbook will affect the students’ solution of the area problem.Based on the above survey results,the following improvement strategies are proposed: timely review to prevent the forgetting of old knowledge;strengthen the teaching of the geometric meaning of area formula,cultivate students ’derivation and thinking ability;standardize students’ problem solving procedures and cultivate good learning habits;Encourage students to use multiple problem solving strategies to cultivate divergent thinking;pay attention to develop and rationally use wrong resources;understand the level of students,reasonable setting of difficulty. |
