Urban And Rural Old-age Social Support Network Comparative Study

In recent years, with the aging of the population development, problems of providing for the aged that caused by population aging are follow closely by sociology, economics, and demographic experts and scholars from related disciplines. As a student studying sociology, I have been very concerned about the social hot spots. I have done some practical research and analysis from sociological theory perspective. I hope to find old-age pension problems in real from the surface.This article from the social network analysis paradigm, combined with the social research data on the urban-rural field classify and depict status of providing for the aged supported network. I focused on the differences between the two and analyse the causes of the differences.On this basis, the author have been classified according to the strength relationship of supporting networks in rural and urban: the network of strong and netw- ork weak. And eventually reached the relationship between the urban and rural support networks and providing for the aged. The author believes that: in the social support network the support relations embedded in it, the individual actors in urban and rural with the support of actors in their own old-age between the social support network is the product of their social relations, relations between people from different support has been different. The author believe that in the cities, old-age social supporting's strong relationships are transform to weak ties. In the urban old-age social support network is a process of transformation from strong network of relationships to a network of weak ties. In the countryside, old-age social supporting is divided equally by strong network of relationships and the network of weak ties. Rural old-age social support network is parallela network of strong and weak one and play different roles. The author believes that old-age support in urban and rural network of weak ties is increasing. Weak relationship network become the mainly rely support network. In the city Pension from strong network to weak ties which reflects the expansion and development of support networks. Both important of strong and weak network of old-age reflects support networks in rural development and growth.Old-age social support networks and provideing for aged are complementary. The strong relationship play role in agglomerating old aged individual and t social support networks. The weak relationship play role in coordinating old aged individual and social support networks.The author know that from the perspective of the social network analysis paradigm the research of urban and rural areas of old-age social support network is not very mature. I hope that through my own research to to provide a theoretical reference. Also I hope that through my own research can provide some theoretical support in development of pension policy and for the building of a harmonious society to provide intellectual support.
