School preparation has always been a hot topic in the field of preschool education,as well as a key topic of social concern.In 2021,the Ministry of Education promulgated the Guiding Opinions on Vigorously Promoting the scientific connection between Kindergartens and Primary Schools,further clarifying the goals and key points of kindergarten school preparation education.Kindergarten teachers and parents are the subjects of school readiness education,and their concept of school readiness is an important factor affecting the implementation of school readiness education for children.This study explores the current situation of kindergarten teachers’ and parents’ concept of school readiness from three aspects: awareness of school readiness,content of school readiness and influencing factors of school readiness.This paper explores the similarities and differences between the two sides in the concept of school preparation and its causes,hoping to provide practical suggestions for both sides to establish a scientific concept of school preparation and form educational joint forces.Through questionnaire survey and interview method,this study investigated kindergarten teachers and parents’ school preparation concept in Xinyang City,Henan Province.Through research and analysis,it was found that:Firstly,study on kindergarten teachers’ conception of school readiness: teachers’ conception of school readiness is affected by age,teaching age and educational background;Private kindergarten teachers pay more attention to the content of school preparation than public kindergarten teachers;Teachers who have received professional guidance pay more attention to the content of school preparation.Second,the study on the concept of school preparation of children’s parents:mothers’ awareness and emphasis on school preparation is higher than that of fathers;Parents’ perception of school preparation is affected by their academic background;Parents of girls attach more importance to school preparation than parents of boys;Parents in public kindergartens pay more attention to the content of school preparation than those in private kindergartens.Thirdly,a comparative study of kindergarten teachers’ and parents’ concepts of school preparation: teachers and parents’ recognition of the necessity of school preparation is relatively high;Teachers and parents have a misunderstanding of the preparation time for school;Parents pay more attention to the content of school preparation than teachers;Parents’ understanding and recognition of factors affecting school readiness are relatively low;Teachers and parents have different ideas of school preparation;Teachers and parents generally ignore the influence of children’s own factors and community factors;Teachers and parents who interact with each other have a higher awareness and emphasis on school readiness.Through the discussion and analysis of the research results and the existing problems,the author puts forward some suggestions from the perspective of homesteading.First,teachers and parents should establish scientific education concept and school preparation concept;Secondly,teachers and parents should enhance the awareness of school preparation work.Third,teachers and parents should enhance the breadth and depth of communication on school preparation.Fourth,kindergartens should provide and open a variety of platforms to meet the needs of parents and teachers;Fifth,the kindergarten should promote home co-breeding with a confident and open mind. |
