Research On The Challenges And Countermeasures Of The Polarization Of Internet Opinion Groups On The Ideological And Political Education Of College Students

Group polarization is part of the study of social psychology,which is often used to explore the influence of group discussion on group decision-making and behavioral outcomes.With the popularity of the Internet,the Internet public opinion,which is a collection of current political news and various public emergencies,has become the focus of college students’ attention.However,the irrational group emotions,extreme views and polarized behaviors that abound in them have negative effects on college students’ ideological perception,personality development and behavioral practices in many aspects.It is worth noting that the increasing frequency and intensity of the polarization of online opinion groups has posed great challenges to the ideological and political education environment,education contents,education methods and educators of college students,which require colleges and universities to actively seek coping strategies.First of all,by clarifying the concept,representation and development process of the polarization of online opinion groups and the related concepts of college students’ ideological and political education,the article argues that the correlative and coupling between the polarization of online opinion groups and college students’ ideological and political education,and relies on the Marxist theory of human nature,the theory of ideological and political education environment and the "gatekeeper" theory in the new media environment as the theoretical basis.Secondly,the article focuses on the internal and external elements of ideological and political education and discusses the challenges formed by the polarization of online opinion groups from five aspects,which are mainly manifested as:threatening the stability of educational environment,reducing the recognition of educational contents,weakening the effectiveness of educational methods,challenging the competence quality of educators,and triggering for misconduct in the ideological and moral behavior of college students.Again,the article analyzes the causes from the level of external social reality environment,the level of educational environment of college students and the level of individual college students with the perspectives of macro,meso and micro.Finally,the article focuses on the challenges and causes,and proposes feasible response strategies from four subjects:colleges and universities,educators,college students and society.Colleges and universities should improve the governance system of polarization of online public opinion groups by innovating ideological and political education network platforms and establishing guidance teams and control mechanisms for polarization of online public opinion groups.Educators should optimize the polarization guidance of online public opinion groups through the main channel of ideological and political theory courses,campus culture construction,social practice teaching and improving their comprehensive quality and ability.Education on media literacy,Internet ethics and Internet rule of law should be carried out for college students in order to enhance their ability to respond to the polarization of Internet opinion groups.At the social level,it is necessary for the government,the state and the media to work together to strengthen network governance,purify the network environment,promote the construction of the rule of law,maintain network security,amplify mainstream voices,guide the direction of public opinion,and jointly improve the external environment that is prone to the occurrence of polarization of online public opinion groups.Through these measures,we hope to dissipate the negative effects brought by the polarization of online public opinion groups and maintain the harmony and stability of the college education environment.
