According to the Chinese Curriculum Standard for Ordinary Senior High Schools(revised in 2020,2017),which emphasizes the development and promotion of thinking,the task group of "speculative reading and expression should enhance the logic and profundity of thinking and cultivate critical thinking ability,indicating that the state places a high value on the cultivation of students’ thinking ability,and critical reading in senior high school reaffirms this.Speculative reading can help students develop their thinking abilities,improve their thinking quality,and increase their critical consciousness.As a result,an effective method for assisting speculative reading teaching,stimulating students’ reading interest,and improving their reading efficiency is required.After the invention of the mind map,its application and research in the field of education became very extensive;however,its application in the field of Chinese education and teaching is mostly reflected in the teaching of writing,and it is uncommon in the teaching of speculative reading.With vivid pictures and texts,a mind map depicts the hidden thinking visualization and the complicated thinking process,which can not only train people’s thinking ability,but also improve their overall ability of knowledge integration and application.The author believes that mind maps can be used in the teaching of speculative reading to cultivate students’ logical thinking ability,and finally to form a set of thinking training and upgrading modes suitable for the development law of senior high school students,in order to achieve the teaching goal of students’ independent learning and continuous exploration of speculative reading.Students’ questionnaires and teacher interviews were used in this study to better understand the current state of speculative reading teaching and the use of mind maps.The characteristics,classification,drawing methods,application forms,and application strategies of mind map in speculative reading teaching were expounded upon after analyzing the significance and feasibility of mind map in speculative reading teaching,and specific teaching cases were designed and analyzed.Finally,the use of mind maps in speculative reading instruction was discussed.The goal of this paper is to discover a method and tool to help with speculative reading teaching by organically combining mind maps with speculative reading teaching,in order to train students’ thinking ability,improve students’ reading quality,and stimulate students’ reading interest.
