With the development of global information technology,in order to meet the needs of innovative and comprehensive human resources development,countries are vigorously carrying out education and teaching reforms and introducing new educational concepts.STEM education,which is characterized by interdisciplinarity and integration,has been developing one after another in various countries because of its focus on cultivating students’ comprehensive and innovative abilities.Physics is suitable for integrating STEM education concepts into teaching and learning because of its practicality and disciplinary integration.In this context,this paper constructs an interdisciplinary teaching design for high school physics based on the STEM education concept,combined with the general high school physics curriculum standards(2017 edition revised in 2020),and conducts related practical research.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part reviews the emergence and development of STEM education,the current status of domestic and international research on STEM education,and the current status of domestic STEM education in high school physics teaching through literature collection and organization.The second part defines the concepts of STEM education,interdisciplinary teaching and physics instructional design and elaborates their theoretical sources to lay the foundation for the subsequent development of STEM teaching.The third part is based on STEM education pattern,combined with high school physics teaching,in-depth analysis of each element of instructional design,and summarizes the principles and processes of interdisciplinary instructional design of high school physics with STEM education concept.In the fourth part,by studying the general high school physics curriculum standards(2017 edition revised in 2020),deeply analyzing the high school physics textbooks and exploring the relevant STEM teaching resources,selecting the contents suitable for integrating the STEM education concept of physics teaching design and practice,taking "Free Fall Motion","Decomposition of Force" and "Experiment: Exploring the Relationship between Acceleration,Force and Quality" as examples,and designing the teaching design that follows STEM teaching pattern.In the fifth part,the teaching practice of physics teaching design based on the STEM education concept is analyzed and evaluated by questionnaire methods and teacher interview methods.The results of the study showed that the teaching pattern based on the STEM education concept has achieved good teaching effects compared with the traditional teaching pattern,and has been recognized by students and teachers,and has received better teaching feedback.Students got corresponding changes in their learning interest,learning ability,cooperation ability,communication ability and practical ability,and their overall ability was improved to some extent.This indicates that conducting high school physics teaching under the concept of STEM education has a positive effect on students’ STEM literacy and core physics literacy development.
