In the context of rapid economic growth and unbalanced regional economic development, rural laborers have gone out to work in order to improve their living conditions, and the children left behind at home have formed a large social disadvantaged group-left-behind children.Childhood is an important period for cultivating one’s moral cognition, but left-behind children lack parental care and education because they are separated from their parents for a long time, and their guardians tend to focus only on the material needs of their children due to their own literacy and lack of guidance in shaping their moral character,so left-behind children have many problems, among which, moral problems are especially prominent.Studying the moral problems of rural left-behind children and taking corresponding countermeasures are not only beneficial to the healthy development of rural left-behind children physically and mentally, but also a necessary way to realize rural revitalization. This paper uses narrative research method to select three left-behind children,Xiao Xin,Xiao Sen and Xiao Mao,from Q Primary School as the research subjects.Through interviews with the respondents as well as their classmates, class teachers, guardians and parents, plus the author’s own observations, the moral problems of rural left-behind children are enumerated.Through multiple perspectives of observation combined with home visits to understand their family backgrounds, the causes of the moral problems of left-behind children are explored in depth. On this basis, suggestions and countermeasures to solve the moral problems of left-behind children in rural areas are proposed in a targeted manner. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, including the background and significance of the study, the current situation of domestic and foreign research, and the definition of concepts. The second chapter includes the basic information of the research subjects and the stories of their lives from five perspectives: themselves, their families, their classmates, their teachers, and the author. The third chapter describes the moral problems of the three left-behind children, including the general ambiguity of moral cognition, the indifference of moral emotion, the relative weakness of moral will, and the occasional misconduct of moral behavior.Chapter 4 analyzes the main moral problems of the left-behind children and summarizes the causes in four aspects: first, the empty position of social moral education;second, the lack of moral education in schools;third, the lack of moral education in families;and fourth, the lack of perfect government supervision mechanism. In the fifth chapter, the author proposes countermeasures to solve the problem of moral education of left-behind children in rural areas from four aspects: first,to play the supporting role of the society;second,to play the leading role of moral education in schools;third,to play the basic role of moral education in families;fourth,to play the guarantee role of the government, hoping to provide practical experience and reference for solving the moral problems of left-behind children, and also to contribute to the rural. We hope to provide practical experience and reference for solving the moral problems of left-behind children, and at the same time contribute to the rural revitalization strategy.
