In January 2018,the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China issued the "General High School Biology Curriculum Standards",which clearly states that the four core qualities of high school biology are "life concept","social responsibility","scientific inquiry",and "rational thinking".In the autumn of 2022,Qinghai Province officially entered the "three new" reform ranks,and will fully implement the "General High School Curriculum Plan and Subject Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition and 2022 Revision)" in the first year of senior high school,which means that the core literacy of biology has officially entered the vision of students and teachers in Qinghai.The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China further emphasizes the strategy of "rejuvenating the country through science and education,with technology as the primary productive force,talent as the primary resource,and innovation as the primary driving force." This also requires teachers to focus on cultivating students’ innovative abilities while implementing their core disciplinary qualities.This article mainly takes the innovation of high school biology experiments as the starting point,and explores the role of innovative experimental teaching in cultivating students’ core literacy in biology under the new curriculum reform environment.Through the method of literature research,the current situation of biological experimental teaching at home and abroad is understood,providing a certain basis for the subsequent questionnaire survey,and interpreting relevant concepts and theoretical basis,providing a theoretical basis for carrying out innovative experimental practice activities.Through questionnaire design and survey methods,a survey was conducted on the current situation of biology experimental teaching in the first year of senior high school in Xining City,confirming the necessity and feasibility of carrying out innovative biology experimental teaching in the high school stage of Xining City.On this basis,case studies of innovative experimental teaching by other scholars were analyzed and classified,and strategies for teaching design were summarized and proposed.Based on this,practical activities for innovative experiments were carried out.According to the analysis of SPSS 25.0data in Practice Activity 1,the significant difference in performance between the two classes conducting innovation experiments and conventional experiments,with a P-value of 0.031,is less than 0.05,indicating a significant difference.Innovative experimental teaching can effectively improve students’ academic performance and implement core competencies.The meiosis creative model works presented by students in Practice Activity 2 show that innovative experimental teaching can cultivate students’ practical and innovative ability.From this,it can be seen that innovative experimental teaching is a good means to implement students’ core competencies in the field of biology and cultivate their innovative practical spirit.Teachers should attach importance to and actively carry out innovative experimental teaching.In order to help teachers better carry out innovative experimental teaching,six suggestions are proposed for the implementation of innovative experimental teaching in high school biology in Xining City,in response to the current situation of high school biology experimental teaching: 1.Strengthen teachers’ research and training on new curriculum standards and new textbooks;2.Strengthen the application of information technology in biological experimental teaching;3.Reform and innovate teaching models;4.Offering extracurricular interest exploration activities for biological innovation experiments;5.Expand the second classroom and strengthen the implementation rate of biological experiments;6.Develop school-based textbooks or topics for innovative biological experiments.
