Independent innovation capability is the fundamental driving force for a country’s prosperity and sustainable development. The future of innovation-driven growth is at a critical juncture. On the one hand,China’s innovation ability needs to be improved, and education is an important way to strengthen the country. On the other hand, creativity has become increasingly important in international scientific research and national policies.Reward is a common incentive means in management and education, and an external influencing factor that can be manipulated in practice, which can change individual creativity.Based on the thinking of reality and theory,in order to enrich the relevant theories of creativity, make up for the research gaps in this field, promote children’s understanding, display and development of creativity in practice, and promote educators to understand and apply rewards better. After sorting out the research results on the relationship between creativity and reward, this research mainly explore the effect of reward types on primary school students’ creativity.Using experimental and survey methods,an experimental study was conducted on the impact of different types of rewards on primary school students’ creativity, with primary school students as the research object. The study found that:(1)Rewards related to performance outcomes have a positive impact on primary school students’ creativity. The average creativity level of the pre reward group is lower than that of the non reward group, while the other groups are higher than that of the non reward group.(2)Under different rewards, the types of rewards for primary school students’ creativity level from high to low are praise rewards, immediate rewards, performance rewards, participation rewards, internal rewards, and advance rewards.(3)There are significant differences in fluency among different reward types. The fluency of pre reward and non reward is significantly lower than that of performance reward, praise reward, and immediate reward; There are significant differences in flexibility among different reward types, with pre reward significantly lower than participation reward, praise reward, and immediate reward, and no reward significantly lower than praise reward and immediate reward; There are significant differences in the total score of creativity among different reward types, with rewards significantly lower than performance rewards, praise rewards, and immediate rewards, while no rewards significantly lower than praise rewards, and immediate rewards.(4)Reward types have significant differences in effort and expectation, and there is a significant positive correlation between effort, expectation, and creativity. The impact of rewards on primary school students’ creativity can be achieved by changing the level of effort and expectation to complete creative tasks.Based on the inspiration of this conclusion to reward and promote children’s creativity, relevant suggestions are put forward: improve the reward system and create an environment that encourages innovation;Strengthen the awareness of rewards and recognize the diverse types of rewards;Grasp the opportunity of education, penetrate creativity and stimulate cultivation;Take appropriate incentives according to the actual situation. This research has certain innovation and limitations. In the future,we need to continue to expand the research scope and depth of the relationship between reward and creativity.
