In 2017,the Chinese Curriculun Standards for Senior High Schools(2017edition)was released,in which four core qualities of Chinese subject was condensed including cultural inheritance and understanding.Many execellent novels are selected in high-school Chinese textbooks organized by the Ministry of Education.These novels themselves contain rich cultural resources and play an important role in cultivating students’ cultural inheritance and understanding.In traditional novel teaching of senior high schools’ Chinese subject,how to implement the cultural inheritance and the undertanding quality has become a problem worth exploring.The novel teaching of senior high schools’ Chinese subject is taken as the research object in this paper,which focuses on the cultivation of cultural inheritance and understanding.The research is carried out from the following four aspects:The first part is the basic concept of novel and cultural inheritance and undestanding,which explains the value of cultural inheritance and understanding.The concepts explained include: the concept and connotation of “novel” and“culture”,and the connotation and content of the core quality of “cultural inheritance and understanding”.Moreover,the four elements of “excellent traditional Chinese culture”,“revolutionary culture”,“advanced socialist culture”and “culture of different ethnic groups and regions” are sorted out from the three aspects of status,concept and textbook standards.In the second part,the present situation and existing problems of novel reading teaching are analyzed.Firstly,the novel and task group’s requirements of textbooks organized by the Ministry of Education are listed.Then in combination of the current teaching situation,the problems existing in the perspective of teachers and students are analyzed to explore the significance of implementing cultural literacy.In the third part,the cultural resources of novels in the senior high schools’ Chinese textbooks are excavated in accordance with the classification of four cultures.They are divided into social customs,emotional expression,values and other aspects.In the fourth part,the conditions of implementing cultural literacy are discussed in this paper from the perspectives of theory,environment,teachers and students.In addition,the necessity and feasibilty of emplementing novel reading teaching are expounded in theory and practice.In combination with the requirements of new curriculum standards and new textbooks,the cases of teaching videos and other literatures are analyzed in this paper,thus putting forward feasible teaching strategies for novel reading.
