Teacher-student relationship is an important factor affecting the effect of education and teaching.A good teacher-student relationship contains harmonious,nurturing,transcendent,symbiotic and other aesthetic qualities,which can revitalize the inner life vitality of teachers and students and promote education toward beauty.However,the teacher-student relationship in the context of modern education is often in a state of obscurity,manifesting as one-way giving or control,two-way deviation or antagonism and other tensions.Confucius’ thoughts on the relationship between human beings,human edification,and the way of human existence all have strong aesthetic overtones,which are important for considering the development of aestheticization of teacher-student relationship in the present time.To this end,this study takes Confucian aesthetics as the theoretical foundation and perspective,combines examples of teacher-student interactions in Confucian schools with cases of teacher-student interactions in educational practice,examines teacher-student relationships in the school field,and seeks to construct a harmonious and wonderful model of teacher-student relationships that can jointly release the vitality of teachers’ and students’ lives,so as to provide certain reference ideas for the creation of the beauty of teacher-student relationships in the context of modern institutionalized education.This study takes The Analects of Confucius as the main reference text and examines Confucius’ aesthetic view of "Ren as beauty" in depth.Confucius attributed the root of beauty to"Ren"."Ren" means "to be benevolent" or "to do the way of benevolence",which must come from a "benevolent heart"."Ren" begins with the "love of kin" and ends with people treating others with true feelings,revealing "respect","loyalty and forgiveness The quality of "respect","loyalty and forgiveness" and "no complaints" is revealed,so that one can achieve the state of "unity of heaven and man" with one’s "benevolence"."In the teacher-student relationship,"Ren" is also embodied as an emotional bond based on "respect," "loyalty and forgiveness," and "no grievances.The connection.The interaction between teacher and student is full of emotion and love,and maintains a symbiotic dynamic of goodness and beauty.In this process,the teacher reveals his or her sincere,sensitive,and generous emotional qualities to attract the students,who turn toward the teacher with their natural life emotions and inspire the teacher’s loving heart."Le" is the experience of joy gained by teachers and students in the process of living together based on "benevolence"."Le" is different from the physical pleasure,but is an artistic perception,i.e.,the perception of the truth of life and existence.The essence of "Le" lies in "Ren",and "Le" between teachers and students arises from the teacher’s "teaching Ren with Ren"."Le" of the teacher-student relationship lies in the joy of the internal source that leads from natural aesthetics to morality,the joy of interaction that focuses on the process of interaction itself,and the joy of self-gain that comes from realizing the truth of existence in the process of interaction.Teachers and students,as the experiencers of "Le",can obtain the happiness of their profession and the pleasure of growth respectively.The aesthetic practice of "Ren" and the aesthetic experience of "Le" give important insights into the artistic development of the modern teacher-student relationship.Firstly,teachers should relieve the tension in the teacher-student relationship,love others and use their true love to arouse students’ vitality;secondly,teachers should make good use of the intermediaries of benevolence,such as text and nature,to build an artistic environment where teachers and students can share the emotional experience of life together and achieve spiritual resonance;finally,teachers should establish a two-way connection between teachers and students to build an interactive relationship of co-growth and joy together. |
