| Under the rapid development of society and the promotion of basic education reform, the Ministry of Education has revised the "Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)"("New Curriculum Standards" for short),which points out that project-based learning can be appropriately adopted in the third learning stage of comprehensive practice.Students should apply knowledge and methods of mathematics and other disciplines to real-life situations and problems, experience the process of discovering, posing, analyzing, solving problems, and appreciate the connections between mathematical knowledge, between knowledge of mathematics and other disciplines, between mathematics, science, technology, and social life.Based on constructivism, discovery learning theory, multiple intelligences theory and previous research experience, this study conducts an empirical research on project-based learning of mathematics in the third stage of compulsory education according to the requirements and guidelines of the New Curriculum Standards.Firstly, through a survey and interview with the teachers and students of M Primary School in Guangzhou,it is found that during the teaching process of mathematics, teachers and students generally recognize the role and value of project-based learning. However, sometimes due to a lack of resources and practical experience,it is difficult to promote and deepen this learning model. This study analyzes the characteristics of project-based learning in primary school mathematics by consulting a large amount of data and referring to the experience of other teachers, and divides it into six categories according to the type of project achievements: mathematics mini-survey,mathematics mini-design,mathematics mini-research,mathematics mini-practice,mathematics mini-modeling and others, and conduct case studies on the first five categories with the themes :water is the source of life;Nutritional lunch; An interesting balance;Determine the starting line;Give a toss. The specific process of presenting "teacher-student interaction" and "student-student interaction" during teaching design and practice is expected to provide scholars with necessary practical cases as references. In addition, this study summarizes the following six pedagogical suggestions by conducting effective evaluation on teaching effectiveness and after-class interviews with students and teachers:(1)Pay attention to students’ development and choose appropriate project themes;(2)Start from the end,do a good job in project design;(3)Take driving issues as the main thread,do a good job in guiding learning;(4)Emphasize the main position of students and improve the effectiveness of group cooperation;(5)Establish good evaluation standards and give full play to the educational role of evaluation;(6)Grasp the multiple roles of teachers and help cultivate students’ core competencies. |
