| The promulgation of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Promotion of Family Education is the first major measure to make special legislation on family education,and the family education has entered a new chapter and a new stage.The implementation of the Family Education Promotion Law,from the traditional private domain of "family affairs" to the public domain of "state",gives parents a new understanding of family education,"according to the law to bring up children" gradually into the parents’ vision,family education is particularly important.Based on this opportunity,the researcher takes the needs of parents’ parenting education for 3-6 year old children in rural areas as the research theme and explores how to effectively promote the development of parents’ parenting education in rural areas based on the actual needs of parents.In this study,literature method and questionnaire survey were used.Based on the existing research and field investigation,the research tool "Questionnaire on Parental Education Needs of rural preschool Parents" was revised.This paper mainly investigates rural parents’ understanding of parental education,their demand for parental education and the implementation of parental education.The questionnaire surveyed 3,496 parents of rural children in X County,Jiangsu Province.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)Parents of rural children have insufficient understanding of the connotation of parental education,and parents of different ages,education levels and occupations have significant differences in their understanding of parental education.(2)In terms of content demands of parental education,educational knowledge and skills have the highest demand,communication and social needs,self-adjustment and family management needs are higher,and social resources needs are lower.Whether the child is the only child or not,there are significant differences in the identity,age,education level,occupation and parental education content needs of the parents.(3)In terms of the form of parental education needs,rural parents tend to implement parental education in kindergartens by kindergarten teachers,and their time needs are more flexible.They hope to participate in 1-2 hours of parental education once or twice a semester,and tend to prefer individual guidance type parental education.(4)In the implementation status of parental education,rural parents’ participation in parental education is low.At the same time,this study found that there are still some problems in rural family parenting education: parents’ understanding of parental education is not sufficient,fathers’ participation in parental education is lower than that of mothers,parents’ neglect of parental education,parent education training institutions are single,parent education training is insufficient,parent education publicity work is not in place,and social support for parent education is insufficient.According to the results of the questionnaire survey,the following suggestions are put forward:(1)At the family level,parents should establish the concept of lifelong learning,parents should actively learn the knowledge of parental education,fathers and mothers should participate in parenting,and grandparents’ parent education should not be ignored.(2)At the kindergarten level: the content of parent education should be appropriate and targeted,the form of parent education should be diverse and flexible,special parent education teams should be set up,and the parent education should be included in the pre-service training of kindergarten teachers.(3)Community level: set up community parenting education project team and carry out community characteristic parenting education courses.(4)Government level:strengthen the publicity of parental education,improve the social support system of parental education. |
