This paper investigates the practical demands of the parents of preschool children in rural areas in terms of the contents,methods,time,frequency and location of parental education by means of questionnaire survey.Findings: the average score of the four dimensions of the demands from parents of preschool children for parental education is higher than the medium degree of demand.Among them,the highest demand of parents of the rural preschool children is to educate children knowledge and skills,followed by communication and social interaction demand,then self-adjustment and management capacity demand,the lowest demand for them is social resources.In addition,parents are most likely to receive parental education by providing information,followed by counseling or interviews,and the last way is by participating.Parents of preschool children in rural areas are willing to receive parental education in kindergarten or where they are not subject to location restrictions for 1-2 times a month,and each time for 1-2 hours.The main factors influencing the parental education demands of rural preschool children are the gender of the children,the educational background and age of the parents.Analysis conclusion:(1)The content demands of parental education from parents of preschool children in rural areas are diverse and imperative.(2)The method demands of parental education from parents of preschool children in rural areas are diverse.(3)Parents of preschool children in rural areas are willing to make use of the weekend to receive parental education.(4)Parents of preschool children in rural areas are willing to accept the parental education for 1-2 times a month,and each time for 1-2 hours.(5)Parents of preschool children in rural areas are willing to receive parental education in kindergartens or where they are not subject to location restrictions.(6)There are differences in the content demands of parental education among parents of preschool children with different characteristics.
