Abstract/Summary:
Since the 1980 s,in order to control the number of population and economic and social development to adapt, our country has begun to implement the family planning policy, from the former couple had better only have one child to the later advocating the one-child policy. Thus, the emergence of one-child families in our country on a large scale, once the only child encounter difficult,one-child families will become families bereft of their only child, which means the probability of families bereft of their only child increased. As more and more parents who lost their only child enter the old age,the problem of this group has gradually come to the fore and gradually become a rigorous social problem. At present, there are more than 1 million families bereft of their only child in China. The change of family structure has a continuous impact on the social life of the elderly who lost their only child. They are living in a social environment lacking certain enhanced mutual assistance, and it is difficult for them to walk out of the dilemma independently and resume normal social life.In this study,semi-structured interview method was used to collect data and conduct qualitative analysis.Based on the empowerment theory as a theoretical perspective, supporting groups were set up to provide environmental support for team members, and intervention and research were focused on the three practical levels of the empowerment theory(individual level, interpersonal level and social environment level). The study found that group work has a significant effect on the elderly who lost their only child with moderate impairment of social life. The intervention effect between the three levels can promote each other, and the living ability of the elderly who lost their only child at all levels can also be mutually stimulated, and an integrated practical model of energy enhancement can be constructed. The group is endowed with the connotation and function of the extended family identity community, which can have a positive impact on the enhancement of self-efficacy,the recovery of social function and the adaptation of social environment of the elderly who lost their only child, but it has some limitations on their resource striving, social decision-making,pension security and other aspects. Therefore, social work needs to use integrated professional methods to comprehensively guarantee the reconstruction of social life of the elderly who lost their only child, and gain experience in social work intervention in the reconstruction of social life of the elderly who lost their only child, and develop local methods with unique Chinese characteristics.
